Chapter 647
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 647:
After completing the transaction, the clerk sealed the box and handed it over. Eric casually slipped it into his bag and walked out of the store.
Upon returning to the car, he found Hadley slumped in her seat, stifling a yawn that brought tears to her eyes.
âTired of waiting?â
He kissed her gently on the lips. âApologies, that was the last stop. Letâs head out.â
âThat sounds perfect.â
At the Flynn estate, the air buzzed with activity as the family geared up for Ernest and Lindaâs imminent wedding.
Upon Ericâs return, Nyla quickly pulled him and Hadley into helping with the wedding tasks.
Curiously, the couple of the hour, Linda and Ernest, were absent from the scene.
Eric casually inquired, âWhere have they wandered off to?â
âTheyâ¦â
âWeâre right here,â Linda said with a beaming smile, descending the stairs with Ernest. She cast a playful look at Eric. âWhatâs this, Eric? Are you finding the wedding prep too taxing?â
âAbsolutely not.â With a dismissive shake of his head and a smile, Eric added, âAnything for my brother and my soon-to-be sister-in-law.â
âThatâs the spirit.â Linda smiled as she turned to Ernest, her voice tinged with excitement.
âErnest, are you guys stepping out?â Eric then asked.
âYes,â Ernest responded with a slight nod.
With a beaming smile, Linda explained, âSo, hereâs whatâs been happening. I organized a contest to design my wedding dress just last week.â

âAnd? Did you find any you liked?â
âOne stood out to me, so weâre off to see the designer.â Looking earnestly at Ernest, Linda added, âItâs important that your brother comes too since heâs the groom and his input is essential.â
Ever since their wedding date was set, Linda had been radiating joy, a feeling so evident that even Hadley, usually indifferent, noticed. Lindaâs eyes briefly fixed on the watch on Hadleyâs wrist, narrowing slightly. However, she swiftly looked away.
âCome on, Ernest. We should head out.â
âAlright.â
As Ernest and Linda departed, Hadleyâs thoughts drifted to Elissa, who had also submitted her design. She wondered about the results. Given Elissa hadnât brought it up, it was likely her entry wasnât selected.
Sebastian drove Ernest and Linda to the agreed location.
Supporting Ernest gently, Linda said, âLetâs take it easy, Ernest.â
Ernest responded with a soft smile, âItâs fine. Iâm getting better, really. No need to fuss.â
âI know, but I still prefer to keep an eye on you.â
Their conversation continued as they reached the venue.
Upon their arrival, the waiter welcomed them, opening the door to a private room. âMr. Flynn, please, your guest is already waiting inside.â
Ernest walked into the room with graceful ease, Lindaâs hand resting lightly on his arm. But the moment his eyes lifted toward the person waiting inside, his steps slowed.
His brows knitted together, his gaze narrowing slightly.
Her?
