Chapter 665
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 665:
âThatâs only right!â
Hadley managed a tight smile. âCanât you see reason? I need to be here at least until heâs through surgeryâ¦â
âWhy?â Ericâs sneer was cutting, his gaze piercing.
Hadley was perplexed. Didnât decency demand her presence?
âListen, Hadley.â
Ericâs eyes were hard as he addressed her, his voice cold. âI appreciate that he saved you. Heâll get all the thanks and compensation he deserves. But I canât stand to see you this concerned about him! Planning to stick by his side? Thatâs out of the question!â
He gripped her more firmly, urging her forward.
âWeâre leaving for home now!â
âNo, Iâm not leaving!â
Hadleyâs anger flared. How could he be so overbearing?
âGet in the car!â
He forced her into the vehicle, despite her protests, and slammed the door shut.
âOpen this door!â Hadley pulled at the handle, but it was locked. âEric, how dare you!â
She turned to face him, her expression one of marked irritation. âEric, your hypocrisy is astounding!â
âWhat?â Eric paused as he tried to buckle her seatbelt. âYou really donât see it?â
Turning her head to meet his gaze directly, Hadley said, âYou rush off mid-date with me to tend to Linda, yet you grudge me the time to support a friend through surgery?â
A shadow crossed Ericâs face. âAre you accusing me?â

âNot at all!â
Her head shook emphatically. âThis is about equality! I never interfered with your duties towards Linda, so donât hinder me from supporting my friend, understood?â
âFriend?â
His grip tightened on her wrist, pondering the term. âAre you seriously calling Denver a friend to you? And how long has he been in your life compared to Linda in mine? You think itâs fair to compare him to her? Does he hold that much significance?â He let go of her hand, laughing softly.
âReally, Hadley? Arguing with me because of him? Donât tell me his heroics tonight have rekindled some old flames!â
What?
Hadley stood there, utterly stunned. Ericâs absurdity left her speechlessâpure madness!
She turned her back to him, closing her eyes to shut out his presence entirely.
Silence from her? Probably feeling a twinge of conscience.
Ericâs eyes narrowed as he started the car, filling the vehicle with a cold silence.
When they arrived at Silver Villas, as soon as the car door unlocked, Hadley bolted out without saying a word and strode toward the front gate.
âWhere do you think youâre going?â Eric called out coldly.
Ignoring him, Hadley kept walking.
âOff to the hospital to visit your ex?â Ericâs voice followed her, tinged with mockery. âSure, go ahead. I wonât stop you.â
Would he actually be that generous?
Indeed, just as she hesitated, he added, âIâve informed his parents already. Theyâre probably at the hospital by this point.â Hadley froze in her tracks upon hearing this.
