Chapter 687
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 687:
Her knees buckled as she gripped her head, dangerously close to collapsing.
âLinda!â Ernest quickly moved forward to support her.
âStay away!â
She violently shoved Ernest aside, backing away from him as though he were a threat sheâd never seen clearly until now.
âYouâyouâre telling meâyou have a child?â
Ernest could only frown and nod silently, guilt clear in his expression.
Lindaâs eyes filled rapidly with tears, anger overwhelming her features. Without warning, she lunged, gripping Ernestâs shirt tightly, her voice trembling with rage.
âYour child? Did you really just say your child?â
âYes,â Ernest admitted quietly, dropping his gaze to avoid hers.
An uncomfortable silence settled between them.
Color drained from Lindaâs face as she bit fiercely into her lower lip, unaware of how deeply sheâd drawn blood.
âLinda!â Ernest immediately reached out, concern etched into his brow. âStop it! Youâre hurting yourself!â
âOh, now youâre concerned about me?â she snapped.
Pulling herself away from him, Linda laughed bitterly before lifting her hand and delivering a stinging slap to Ernestâs cheek.
The harsh sound lingered sharply in the air, leaving Ernest momentarily stunned by the blow.
âErnest!â Lindaâs gaze burned into his, her control nearly shattered.

âYou always insisted youâd never betrayed meâalways claiming innocence. And now thereâs a child involved? How do you explain that to me? Tell me! What exactly am I toâ¦â
âWhatâs going on?â Disturbed by the noise, Nyla stepped out, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
âYou two arguing again?â
âNyla!â Linda immediately rushed to Nyla, burying herself in her comforting embrace.
âYou have to stand by me this time!â
âMr. Flynn!â
Quentin came rushing urgently from below, interrupting the scene.
âWeâve got an update about the boy!â
âDid you find him?â
Ernestâs gaze hardened, his throat bobbing as he swallowed.
His eyes flickered toward Linda, hesitation gripping him like a vice. He parted his lips slightly, as if on the verge of speaking, but in the end, he turned away in silence.
Lindaâs breath hitched. Her heart pounded in disbelief.
âErnest! Donât you dare walk away from me!â
At the sharpness of her tone, Ernest faltered. His shoulders stiffened before he slowly turned back, his expression a tangled mess of conflict and regret.
âErnest!â
Linda lunged forward, fingers digging into his arm, her grip tight, desperate. Her swollen, tear-rimmed eyes bore into his as she shook her head, her voice low but seething.
âYouâre not leaving. Not like this.â
