Chapter 707
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 707:
Conveying her plans, Sebastian added,
âShe mentioned sheâd arrive later.â He then proceeded to the walk-in closet with the luggage in hand.
âIâm going to put this inside.â
âOkay.â
Eric acknowledged this but felt a twinge of worry.
As dusk began to fall, there was still no sign of Hadley.
Restlessness overtook Eric, and he reached for his phone, dialing her number.
After a second attempt, the line finally connected.
âHello,â Hadley said, barely audible. âWhoâs this? Whatâs happening?â
âHadley,â Eric called out gently.
Upon hearing her sluggish response, he speculated,
âYou sound asleep, are you?â
Barely stirring, Hadley responded,
âYes⦠Iâm exhausted. Do you need anything?â
Eric paused, his mouth opening slightly.
âNo, itâs nothing. Just⦠have a good sleep.â
âAlright.â
She ended the call abruptly, leaving Eric without the chance to bid farewell.

âHadley? Hello?â
For a few moments, Eric gazed at his phone in disbelief, his frustration mounting rapidly.
It dawned on him that Hadley wasnât returning.
In a sudden burst of anger, Eric hurled his new phone against the floor, where it smashed with a resounding crack.
Just then, Phillips entered the room and took in the scene. Stepping forward, he understood Ericâs distress and, as he called for a nurse to deal with the mess, he assured Eric,
âMr. Flynn, Iâll fetch Hadley for you immediately.â
With that, he began to leave.
âStop!â
Ericâs voice stopped Phillips in his tracks after a single step.
A stern look crossed Ericâs face.
âWho said you could decide for me? Hadley is resting. Let her be!â
Phillips was visibly surprised.
Could Eric truly be serious?
He was injured, and logically, Hadley, his girlfriend, ought to be at his side.
Yet Eric seemed to prioritize her rest over her presence.
Wasnât it possible for Hadley to rest in his room, though?
Eric gave Phillips a look.
