Chapter 726
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 726:
Elissa shook her head, staring down at her lap. âI donât know. Iâve never thought about it.â
Hadley squeezed her hand. âThen start thinking about it. Youâre still so young, Elissa. Donât let yourself rot in a relationship thatâs already dead.â
A few days later, the doctor came in to check on Eric, his practiced gaze assessing him with a hint of approval.
âYou can transition to oral medication now,â the doctor announced, shutting off the IV with practiced ease.
Eric, who had been teetering on the edge of boredom for days, immediately straightened. âSo, does that mean I can finally get out of here?â
The doctor gave him a knowing look. âTechnically, yes. But Iâd advise staying a few more days for a safer recovery.â
âNo, thanks,â Eric replied, waving a dismissive hand. âAnother day in this place, and I might actually fossilize.â
Hadley scoffed, rolling her eyes. Did he think she hadnât noticed?
Even while hooked up to an IV, Eric had been running his business as if the hospital was just another office. Phillips had practically turned Ericâs hospital room into a temporary headquarters. Ericâs schedule was tighter than his doctorâs!
The doctor sighed in resignation. âAlright, Mr. Flynn, but take your medication on time, avoid anything strenuous, andâmost importantlyârest.â
âUnderstood,â Eric said with a nod, though Hadley could already tell he had no intention of following that last part.

Phillips left to sort out the discharge paperwork.
Since Eric still wasnât back to full strength, Nyla suggested he return to the Flynn Mansion, where a team of staff, a private chef, and round-the-clock care would make things easier for him.
But nothing could have prepared Hadley for what awaited them at the mansion. As they stepped inside, Hadleyâs eyes landed on a tiny figure darting across the hallâa three-year-old child with big, round eyes. She blinked. A child? Living here? With the Flynn family?
She stared at Eric in surprise, and he simply squeezed her hand, a wry smile playing on his lips. âYes, thatâs why Ernest and Linda have been fighting.â
Hadley opened her mouthâthen shut it again.
Lately, Linda had been relentless in her complaintsâinsisting that Ernest had cheated on her. And now, the truth was out. The child was already three years oldâthis wasnât some fleeting mistake or a moment of weakness. This had happened years ago.
Hadley couldnât help but glance at Ernest, the ever-composed, refined man. So even he was capable of something like this?
Of course, she kept her thoughts to herself. This wasnât her business, and she had no right to judge.
Still, an unexpected thought crossed her mindâJoy.
Her eyes flickered to Eric. The Flynn brothers sure had something in common. When it came to children, they both seemed to share the same streak of irresponsibility.
Eric, noticing her pointed stare, shifted uncomfortably. âWhy are you looking at me like that? Hadley, I swearâyouâre the only one for me. I havenât fathered any children with anyone else!â
