Chapter 75
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 75:
âGrandma.â
âNyla.â
Nyla gripped the hands of both Eric and Linda. âIâll be alright, just you wait and see. No need to worry.â Her gaze then shifted to Hadley.
âHadley, come closer, let me have a good look at you,â Nyla said.
âNyla.â Hadley approached, and Nyla tenderly took her hand.
âHadley, youâve really matured after everything youâve endured. Once I recover, Iâm going to spoil you like in the old days, okay?â
âAbsolutely. Youâre on for a pinky promise, no backing down!â Hadley responded, extending her pinky finger.
âHuh?â Nyla was momentarily taken aback, but then her laughter filled the room. âAlright, alright!â
Nyla joyfully linked her pinky with Hadleyâs. âItâs a promise, no going back on it!â
From a short distance, Eric watched with a subtle grin.
Despite Hadleyâs challenging demeanor, her knack for brightening Nylaâs mood was undeniable.
With just a few playful words, Nyla was filled with laughter.
Eric and Linda knew they couldnât inspire that joy quite like Hadley.
âItâs time, Mrs. Flynn. We should get going.â
A nurse arrived and began to take Nyla toward the surgery room. The operation was expected to last between four to five hours, providing plenty of time for the family to wait in the VIP lounge. As lunchtime neared, Linda checked her watch before addressing Eric. âHey, Eric, what are you in the mood for? Iâll place an order.â
âChoose anything you like. Iâm not picky.â
At that moment, Ericâs phone vibrated with an incoming work call. âI need to take this. Iâll be right back.â
This left Linda and Hadley by themselves in the lounge. Linda offered a warm smile. âWhat about you, Hadley?â

After a brief pause, Hadley slowly shook her head. âNo, thanks. You two go on without me.â
She then picked up her bag and headed for the exit.
Linda watched her leave with a slight smirk. âNot hungry, huh? Thatâs alright. I wasnât particularly eager to share a meal with you either.â She gestured for her assistant to come closer. âLetâs get something to eat. You remember what Eric prefers, right?â
âYes, Iâve got it covered,â the assistant replied confidently before walking off to order their food.
By the time Eric returned, the food had been delivered.
âEric!â Linda greeted him cheerfully, gesturing for him to join her. âHere, sit down. We ordered all your favorites.â
âSounds good.â
Eric stowed his phone away and settled into a chair.
As he reached for his fork, he looked around. âWhereâs Hadley?â
