Chapter 751
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 751:
Hadley clenched her hands, an unshakable resentment rising inside her toward the man who had shattered Elissaâs world.
That evening, Eric arrived at the dance studio earlier than usual. He had come to pick Hadley up for their return to Silver Villas. They were attending a banquet that night, and she needed to change.
As they sat in the car, Hadley stared out the window, her thoughts still tangled in the worry for Elissa.
âDo not be upset,â Eric pulled her into his embrace, gently rubbing her forehead. âAs a friend, it is fine to care about her and help her, but in the end, it is her life, and she has to walk her own path.â
âI know.â
Hadley nodded, saying nothing more.
Eric did not understand that she saw her own past helplessness in Elissa. Fortunately, unlike Hadley herself, Elissa had a grandfather she could rely on. Hopefully, with Addyâs intervention, her life would take a turn for the better.
At Silver Villas, Hadley changed into her evening gown, and together with Eric, they headed to the banquet.
As they entered the venue, Eric took two glasses of champagne from a waiter, handing one to her. âHadley, here you go.â
Hadley frowned and waved her hand. âI will not drink.â
She might be pregnant already as they spoke, so she avoided anything questionable. She took Ericâs glass as well. âYou should not drink either.â

âMr. Flynn.â
A business associate of Ericâs approached. During the greetings, their gaze occasionally fell on Hadley.
âMr. Flynn, this lady⦠I have never seen you bring her out before.â
Upon hearing this, Ericâs expression cooled. He held Hadleyâs hand, about to respond, when she suddenly tightened her grip on his arm, supporting her forehead.
âEric, I do not feel well.â
âWhat is wrong?â
Eric noticed her pale face and immediately pulled her into his arms. âLet us sit over there and rest for a while!â
With a swift motion, he lifted her off the floor.
âHey!â Hadleyâs face flushed, wanting to struggle but not daring. âWhat are you doing? Everyone is watching.â
âLet them look; it does not matter.â Eric frowned, unconcerned. âYou are not feeling well. Why should I care if they watch?â
Ignoring the curious and envious glances, Eric carried Hadley to the lounge area, placing her on the sofa.
âHow do you feel? Where does it hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?â
âIt is not that serious.â Hadley chuckled. âItâs probably just that my blood sugar drops.â
They had come directly to the banquet without eating.
Eric realized. âWait here. I will get you something to eat.â
âEricâ¦â
