Chapter 765
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 765:
âThen why would she call me using a different number instead of her own?â Hadley murmured, her brows knitting tighter. âAnd her voice⦠it sounded strange.â
Eric studied her carefully. âStrange how? Was she crying? Did she ask for help?â
Hadley shook her head. âNo, but she sounded⦠anxious.â
The other voiceâthe one that had interrupted Elissaâhad an unsettling quality to it. It wasnât just firm; it carried a quiet, underlying threat. The second that voice appeared, the call had been abruptly cut off.
Why would Elissa hang up without calling back? Or had that personâwhoever they wereâcut her off?
A sinking feeling settled in Hadleyâs chest. Could Elissa be in trouble?
She exhaled and looked at Eric. âThe only clue I have is this blocked number. Track it down for me andâ¦â But then, she hesitated.
Had she just⦠assumed he would? The request had slipped out so naturally, as if she were asking him to pass her a glass of water.
Eric, however, only smirked, amusement flickering in his gaze. He had caught the shift, too. Hadley was growing more comfortable with him. And judging by her expression, she had just realized it as well.
Hadley cleared her throat, feeling a little awkward. âI mean⦠if itâs not too much trouble⦠would you mind helping me out?â
Eric arched a brow, his smile deepening as he leaned in closeâtoo close. His voice brushed against her ear, low and teasing. âHow could I refuse my lovely girlfriend?â
Hadley stiffened, caught off guard. Her breath hitched, her cheeks warming. Something between them was shifting. Slowly, subtly, but surely.

Determined to prove himself, Eric wasted no time. As soon as they stepped back into Silver Villas, he pulled Hadley into his arms, capturing her lips in a deep, urgent kiss.
âEricââ
Hadley barely managed to catch her breath, pushing lightly against his chest.
âWait⦠letâs eat first.â
Eric smirked, his grip tightening around her waist. âFun first, food later.â He wasnât about to let her goânot after missing out on time with her over the weekend. He had every intention of making up for it.
Eric kissed her again, murmuring her name over and over, like a melody he couldnât get enough of. âHadley⦠Hadleyâ¦â
By the time they finally came up for air, Hadley was starving.
As Eric carried her out of the bathroom, she let out a huff of frustration before sinking her teeth into his shoulder.
âOuch!â He flinched dramatically, though amusement danced in his eyes. Then, as if a wicked thought had just crossed his mind, he smirked. âOh? Not satisfied yet? Should we go another round?â
Hadley shot him a sharp look before reaching up and tangling her fingers into his hair. âKeep talking nonsense, and Iâll rip it off with my bare hands!â She gave his hair a deliberate tug, making him yelp.
âHey, hey, hey!â Eric chuckled, hands up in surrender. âAlright, alright! I give up!â But he wasnât one to back down so easily. With a teasing grin, he added, âWhatâs there to be shy about? Itâs perfectly normal for a couple toâah!â Before he could finish, Hadley tightened her grip, and Eric immediately realized he had tested his limits. His hair was officially in the danger zone.
