Chapter 793
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 793:
At the entrance stood Linda, a phone gripped tightly in her hand. Smiling sweetly at the new arrival, she warmly greeted him. âEric! Youâve finally arrived.â Only moments before, she had secretly snapped a photo of Hadley and Denver together and forwarded it straight to Eric.
âMm-hm.â
Eric nodded slightly, his face expressionless.
Without another word, Linda gestured discreetly toward the archive roomâs door. âTheyâre inside. You can go in; I still have work to finish.â
âOkay.â
With another curt nod, Eric strode directly toward the door and pushed it open without hesitation.
The sight of Hadley and Denver locked in an emotional embrace, their faces streaked with tears, instantly darkened Ericâs gaze. His eyes flashed dangerously with anger, swiftly consuming him.
The corner of his mouth curled coldly, his voice icy with accusation as he said,
âMind explaining this? What exactly are you two doing?â
Hearing Ericâs voice unexpectedly, Hadley and Denver exchanged startled glances, turning sharply toward the entrance.
âEric? What is he doing here at such an odd hour?â
âYouâre here already? Letâs step outsideâ¦â
Instinctively, Hadley nudged Denver behind her, stepping in front of him protectively. Given their past encounters, she feared Eric might react violently toward Denver.

Unfortunately, her instinctive move to protect Denver only fueled Ericâs anger further.
âOh, really?â Eric let out a cold laugh and advanced slowly, menacingly. âWhatâs the point of stepping outside? We can discuss it here. Go onâexplain yourself. What exactly are you two doing here?â
âEric, Iââ
Before Hadley could say anything, Eric abruptly pushed her aside, lunging forward to seize Denver by the throat.
âUgh!â Denver gasped, struggling instinctively. But Eric, overpowering him easily, forced him backward until Denver was pinned painfully against the conference table.
âDenver!â Hadley, horror-struck, rushed desperately to grab Ericâs arm. âEric, stop! Please, calm down!â
âCalm down?â Ericâs voice rose as he glared at Hadley. âYouâre sneaking around with some guy here, and Iâm just supposed to stay calm?â
His eyes blazed with rage, wide and unrelenting. It was the kind of look that made the air feel heavy, like his fury might consume everything in front of him.
âHumph!â
With a scornful snort, Eric shifted his terrifying stare onto Denver, venom dripping from every word. âYou dare touch my girl? Do you have any idea what youâre messing with?â
âNo!â Hadley shouted desperately, grabbing hold of Ericâs raised arm.
She knew Ericâs viciousness firsthandâDenver wouldnât survive if Eric chose to fully unleash his wrath.
âEric, please, Iâll go back with you⦠Letâs just talk this through privately, alright?â Yet her pleading only seemed to enrage Eric even more.
