Chapter 794
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 794:
Ericâs eyes narrowed sharply, fixing on Hadley as tears began to well up in her eyes. Gently, almost tenderly, he cupped her face, softly wiping the falling tears with his thumb. Yet, his voice was cold and mocking as he whispered, âTell me, who are these tears really for?â
Hadleyâs voice faltered, her body rigid as she glimpsed the wild anger burning in Ericâs gaze. Instinctively, she tightened her grip around his arm, shouting desperately, âDenver, run now!â
âHadley,â Eric hissed slowly, his voice vibrating dangerously as his anger surged uncontrollably. âYouâre openly protecting another man right in front of me? How could you betray me like this?â
Abruptly, Eric shoved Hadley aside. She cried out sharply, âAh!â
Eric had not intended to harm her. The shove was merely to free himself from her grasp, wanting only to reach Denver. Yet Hadley lost her balance and stumbled backward awkwardly, reaching out desperately to steady herself. Her elbow collided sharply with the table edge, sending waves of pain shooting through her arm. She gasped. âAh!â
Her cry halted Eric and Denver instantly, drawing their full attention back to her. Hadley clutched her injured arm, doubled over in agony, unable to straighten.
âHadley!â Ericâs face instantly shifted to deep worry, releasing Denver immediately to rush toward her. He gently took her arm, inspecting it carefully.
âIt hurts!â Hadley cried out in genuine pain, even at his gentle touch. This was clearly serious.
Ericâs complexion drained of color, and he quickly withdrew his touch. Without another word, he carefully lifted her into his arms, urgency clear in his voice. âWeâre heading to the hospital now.â

âYou think youâre taking her anywhere?â Denver moved decisively forward, blocking Ericâs path. âYou can leave, Eric, but leave Hadley with me.â
Only today had Denver learned the truthâthat his actions had driven Hadley away. Now, he was witnessing Eric physically hurting her right before his eyes. Regret and guilt gnawed painfully at Denverâs conscience.
Frustration finally exploded out of him as he shouted fiercely, âEric! You schemed to steal Hadley away from me, but youâve never cherished her! If you wonât truly care for her, then let her go!â
Ericâs expression hardened instantly. âWhat exactly are you accusing me of?â
âOh, come on,â Denver scoffed bitterly, his lips twisting into a sarcastic smile. âYou have the nerve to act but not the courage to admit it? I know everything that happened in Blathe. Hadley never intended to be with you. You orchestrated all of it!â
What happened in Blathe? Until Denverâs accusation, Eric had practically buried that past. So, Denver finally discovered the truth?
Realization hit Eric like cold water, and he glanced down at Hadley nestled in his arms. No wonder Denver and Hadley had embraced so emotionally moments ago. Were they mourning the past together? How sweetly tragic!
âFine. I admit itâI planned everything,â Eric sneered, lifting his chin arrogantly. âBut what does it matter now?â Lowering his eyes disdainfully, he then asked, âAre you planning to take her back?â
Denver felt his heart jump painfully. âReturn her to me!â
