Chapter 795
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 795:
âHa!â Eric laughed dismissively, raising an eyebrow. âDo you genuinely think she would choose you again? Maybe focus on your own family drama first.â
âDenver!â Hadleyâs voice cut sharply through their exchange. She gave Denver a pleading look and shook her head slightly, begging him silently to stop. Glancing at Eric, Hadley gently reassured Denver, âYou misunderstood things here, Denver. Iâm happy with him. Heâs always treated me wonderfully.â Softly tugging Ericâs sleeve, she then said, âLetâs just go.â
âHadley?â Denverâs voice wavered in disbelief.
âHumph.â Ericâs eyes flashed coldly as he shot a victorious glance at Denver. âYou heard herâstep aside.â
Then, gazing down at Hadley, his voice shifted tenderly. âAs you wish, letâs leave together.â
âAlright,â Hadley responded softly, leaning further into Ericâs protective embrace, her eyes avoiding Denver entirely. Inside, her heart whispered painfully, âIâm sorry, Denver. This is best for you.â
Denver stood frozen, watching helplessly as they left. His heart fractured under a weight of unbearable pain. Despair and powerlessness consumed him. He reached for the table to support himself.
âYouâre lying, Hadley. You arenât truly happy⦠are you?â Denverâs silent plea echoed within.
Once outside, Ericâs previously tender facade vanished completely. The act had solely been for Denverâs sake. Eric was far from done with this matter. However, Hadleyâs injury was immediate, and he knew he needed to address that first.

Without uttering a single word, Eric opened the car door and carefully placed Hadley inside.
Just as the car began moving, Hadley said firmly, âIâm not going to the hospital.â
Ericâs brows knitted tightly. Was she deliberately testing his patience now? Considering everything that transpired, who was truly at fault?
âHadley.â Ericâs voice strained with controlled irritation. âYour arm is hurt. Are you sure now is the right time to defy me?â
âIâm not defying you,â Hadley replied calmly. âI simply refuse to go to the hospital.â
âYouââ Eric pressed his lips into a tight, displeased line. âYouâre clearly hurt. It hurts when you move! It could be something serious!â
Of course, Hadley understood the gravity. Precisely because she understood, she couldnât risk going to the hospital. With a possible fracture, the X-ray would be necessary, and it would definitely jeopardize the child she carried.
Unable to reveal her secret yet, Hadley stubbornly insisted, âI wonât go.â
Ericâs patience shattered. Fine, if she wished to suffer, then let her! Why should he care so deeply for a woman who didnât even love him anyway?
At Silver Villas, the car rolled to a stop. Without waiting for Eric, Hadley flung open the door and stepped out, a spark of independence lighting her actions.
Eric froze, a quiet, scornful laugh escaping him as he tried to unravel the mystery of her newfound boldness.
By the time he strolled into the living room, Hadley had already vanished upstairs, leaving only echoes of her presence.
