Chapter 801
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 801:
Her eyes locked onto Ericâs, the air crackling with tension. âPay attention, Ericâyouâre not the father.â
âEnough! Zip it!â Ericâs voice erupted like a volcano, his fist flying up in a burst of fury.
Flinching, Hadley squeezed her eyes shut and raised her arms to shield herself, bracing for impact.
But instead of a strike, a deafening bang echoed as Ericâs fist slammed into the wall behind her.
Blinking in confusion, Hadley found Ericâs enraged face inches from hers, his entire body trembling with a volatile mix of rage and restraint.
He looked like a man on the edge. âHadleyâ¦â
That single punch seemed to drain every ounce of strength from him.
A hollow chuckle escaped Eric, dripping with sarcasm. âHow could you say that? How could you do this to me?â
Grabbing Hadleyâs wrist with an iron grip, he rasped, âIf youâre not staying in the hospital, then youâre coming home with me!â
In one swift motion, he swept her into his arms.
âEricâ¦â Linda stood frozen, invisible to himâan unfamiliar sting of being sidelined.
This was an entirely unprecedented turn of events.
Her fists clenched in silence, her nails biting into her palms. âEven after being played for a fool, he still canât let her go,â Linda mused bitterly. âDid he truly care for Hadley that deeply?â

Eric swept Hadley out of the hospital and into the car with a determined stride. Hadley sat in silence, her hands tightly clasped, her heart pounding like a drum. This wasnât the script she had imagined playing out.
Her wish had come trueâshe was pregnant at last! But the plot thickened when Eric discovered her secret.
She racked her brain for a way to cut him loose, and Linda, without even knowing it, had handed her a golden opportunity.
Surely, no man could stomach such a betrayalâHadley had been certain he would call it quits.
The car pulled up at Silver Villas, and Hadleyâs brow furrowed in confusion.
Why here? She had expected him to show her the door, not bring her back to his domain.
Hadleyâs fingers brushed the handle, ready to step out, when Ericâs voice sliced through the air like a whip.
âStay put!â His tone was sharp, his face as pale as moonlight. âWait there!â
Hadley froze, thrown off balance. Was there some unspoken rule against her exiting the car?
Eric stepped out, circled to her side, and lifted her carefully, though his arms trembled slightly.
Swallowing a rising tide of frustration, he carried her to the master bedroom, settled her gently on the bed, and draped the blanket over her.
Then, without a word, he turned and slipped out of the room.
Hadley lay there, utterly perplexed. What game was he playing?
