Chapter 806
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 806:
âBroke up? What are you talking about? What made you think we broke up?â
âWell, you didnât come home last night,â Hadley replied calmly, her voice wavering slightly. âWerenât you with Megan? I saw her social media post, so I figuredâ¦â
That picture was practically a public declaration, revealing their relationship to the world!
Eric instantly understood.
He hadnât checked social media himself, but knowing Megan, he could imagine the suggestive content she mightâve posted. Yet, confident he hadnât crossed any line, he hadnât anticipated Meganâs boldness.
After a tense silence, Eric chuckled softly, a cold edge creeping into his voice as he stared intently at Hadley. âYou certainly have your methods for trying to break up with me.â
She looked bewildered. âMethods?â
âYou really donât understand?â His amusement vanished suddenly as he stepped closer, gripping her shoulders tightly. âTo leave me, first you degrade yourself, and now you accuse me of cheating?â
Hadley froze, confusion flashing through her eyes.
What was he implying?
His expression darkened further, features rigid with suppressed anger.
âHow could you say the child isnât mine?â he asked, gripping her chin, forcing her gaze upward to meet his piercing stare. âLook at me, Hadley. Look directly into my eyes and dare to say that again.â

His hand slowly slid downward, his fingertips lightly tracing her neck, a chilling threat implicit in the gesture. âThink very carefully before you answer,â he whispered, his fingers subtly tighteningâjust enough to remind her of his power, as though he might break her if she spoke incorrectly.
Hadley instinctively drew back, her heart pounding as fear surged through her veins. The fierce intensity in his eyes rendered her speechless.
âWhy arenât you talking now?â Ericâs voice dropped dangerously low, tinged with bitterness. âTry saying something reckless again. Iâve indulged you, pampered you like youâre priceless, yet you dare to demean yourself and our relationship like this?â
Hadley froze, feeling Ericâs hand settle gently on her lower belly.
âHavenât I been good to you?â Ericâs voice cut through the silence. âWhat else do you need from me to stick around? Are you that desperate to ditch me? Do you really think Denver would still take you in, knowing youâre carrying my child?â
Before Hadley could even muster a reply, Eric arched an eyebrow, a sly smirk tugging at his lips. He leaned in, each word dripping with intent. âListen up, sweetheartâyouâre not going anywhere. Youâre staying right here with me. That baby is coming into this world, safe and sound, and Iâm the only father he or she is gonna know. Got it?â
With that, he let Hadley go and sauntered upstairs as if he hadnât just dropped a bombshell.
Hadley stood there, her mind a jumbled mess, buzzing like a busted radio.
It took her ages to shake off the shock.
Did Eric seriously not believe her?
Or⦠did he?
