Chapter 84
Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 84:
He was stopped mid-way by someone.
It was Lindaâs assistant, Teresa Cruz.
âIt really is you.â Teresa was not alone. Pointing at the car, she said, âLindaâs waiting in the car. I came to buy her donuts.â
She sighed deeply. âLinda wanted the paczki, but they were gone by the time I arrived. You know how particular she is. She refuses to eat anything else.â
The assistant continued complaining, âThe morning shoot is extremely hectic. If Linda doesnât eat anything, how can she handle it?â
Suddenly, she paused, noticing Eric.
She looked at the paper bag in his hand. âMr. Flynn, are you here for donuts too?â
âYes.â
A look of discomfort appeared on Ericâs face, with Hadley just a few steps behind him.
âWhat variety did you get?â asked the assistant, her tone light but probing.
Eric did not respond, looking troubled. Teresa had already seen the label on the bag.
âPaczki.â
âAre those paczki?â
For the first time, Eric hated the clear labeling at Grandmaâs Kitchen.
It was becoming annoying.
âTeresa?â
Linda, apparently impatient, had exited the car, her sunglasses and mask on, searching for her assistant.
âWhy is it taking so long to get some donuts?â Then she noticed Eric and Hadley.
âEric, Hadleyâare you guys here for breakfast?â
âYes.â

âLinda,â Teresa quickly interjected. âThe paczki are all taken, but Mr. Flynn managed to get some.â
As she said this, Teresa gave Eric a meaningful look.
The implication was clear. He should offer them to Linda.
Linda looked puzzled. âReally? But you donât even like those, right?â Linda had known Eric well since they grew up together.
âWhy would Eric buy them?â she wondered.
Suddenly, it made sense.
Lindaâs intuition flared. âWait, who did you get them for?â
With a light tone, Linda smiled. âFor Hadley, huh?â
âYes.â Eric nodded in confirmation. âShe was up all night caring for Grandma and hasnât eaten yet.â
âThat makes sense,â Linda replied, still smiling.
âGo ahead, Hadley, eat before they cool off. I need to head to the set.â Before Eric could reply, Linda pulled her assistantâs arm. âWe should go now.â
âBut Linda!â Teresa complained. âWhy didnât you ask Mr. Flynn to give them to you? He would have agreed if you had asked!â
âYou talk too much. Letâs go.â
