Chapter 120
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Unexpectedly, Nathaniel walked to the door.
âWhat do you mean, youâre okay?â Oliviaâs mother raised her hand and thumped her. âI see you havenât been well. I thought you were on leave, but it turns out that youâre just lazy! What were you planning to do since youâre too lazy to even go to work?â
Her mother spoke while hitting Olivia a few times. Olivia did not dodge but said helplessly, âMom, donât worry about it. Go on with your errands.
âItâs not that I want to boss you around, but you should know how to be responsible. Even your boss had to come to find you! Now tell me, when will you straighten up?â âMom...â Olivia grew very helpless.
Nathaniel, standing at the door, seemed to be watching a play.
He waited for Olivia to be smacked a few times before he cleared his throat and stopped her mother.
âMrs. Hart, I think Olivia may have some other reasons. Donât blame her. Iâm not here to find her guilty.
Iâm just concerned if sheâs uncomfortable or had encountered difficulties.â
âMr. Hall, if thereâs anything you want to say, can we talk outside?â Looking at him, Olivia was very annoyed.
She had underestimated him. He was more despicable than she imagined! He went to her home and used her mother to pressure her.
Anyway, he achieved his goal. Nathaniel spread his hands wide and replied, âSure, why not?â Oliviaâs mother had already made the tea, and when she heard Oliviaâs words, she put down the teapot and said, âMr. Hall, Iâve spoiled Olivia a little. Sometimes she may be willful, but sheâs still a good child. If she gets lazy at work, please scold her. She still needs this job, though!â
âMom, stop talking!â Olivia smacked her own forehead. The situation was getting out of hand.
Oliviaâs mother glanced at her and thought Olivia did not understand her sincere intentions. âDonât worry, Olivia needs this job, and our company also needs her,â Nathaniel said with a smile. âThatâs good!â Nodding furiously, Oliviaâs mother said to her, âQuickly, say thank you to Mr.... âShe wanted to continue but suddenly could not remember his last name. âMr. Hall, letâs go out and talk!â Olivia was already standing at the door because she could not take it any longer. âMom, Iâll go out and come back soon.â
With her back to Nathaniel, Oliviaâs mother stepped in front of her and whispered, âOkay, have a nice chat with Mr. Hall!â
Olivia and Nathaniel went to the coffee shop downstairs. He ordered two cups of coffee, but she was in no mood to drink.
âMr. Hall, whatâs your intention of coming to my house?â Her tone was stern, and she was no longer indifferent Nathaniel smiled, picked up the coffee, and took a sip. âI care about my subordinates!â
âOkay, letâs stop going around in circles. Mr. Hall, I know what you want, but Iâm sorry, I donât know Lilyâs recipe. As you know, every perfumer has an exclusive recipe, which is impossible to share with others. I was just her assistant, and Iâm still an employee of MN Inc. What makes you think she still trusts me?â She finished speaking in one breath.
Nathaniel just smiled and looked at her calmly without interrupting.
After she finished speaking, Nathaniel nodded, âYou are right, but I didnât come to ask you for any formulas. Did you think that without Lily, MN Inc. could not function? Did you think we would not figure out the tricks up her sleeves? It looks like you overestimated her!â
Olivia thought he was here for what happened in the past. She did not go to the lab the past few days, so she was uninformed about the state of affairs. She only wanted to mess things up. However, seeing Nathaniel like this, did it mean they solved the problem?
