"How would we know if the research hasn’t succeeded yet? Maybe you're heading in the wrong direction." Rhea said it meaningfully.

The elevator dinged as it reached the floor.

Lily no longer responded to her words.

As the elevator doors opened, she wanted to step out but found someone blocking their way.

"Mike?" Lily was stunned.

Seeing him, Rhea knitted her brow.

"Mike, what are you up to again?"

"Mrs.Russel no longer works in the lab and shouldn’t come here."

Not answering Rhea, Mike looked at Lily and said, emphasizing each word.

Holding back her anger, Lily looked at him.

"I’m here to pick up what I left behind.Is it not allowed, Mr.Corden?"

She stressed his last name on purpose.

‘What is Mike up to? He keeps getting in my way."

"What have you left behind?" Mike’s gaze showed no emotions.

"You won’t be able to find anything that belongs to you here, and you shouldn't be here either.Tell me what you left behind, and I’1l get someone to return it to you.Please leave now, Mrs.Russell."

‘He's ordering me to leave.What a cold person! He truly goes by the book, doesn’t he?’

"Mrs.Russell is here to see me, and I’ve invited her to visit my workplace.You can talk to me if you have a problem with it."

To Lily’s surprise, Rhea tried to help her.

"Mrs.Russell is not an outsider and is a founding member of the project.What secrets would we be hiding from her?"

Rhea curled her lips into a dismissive smile.

Lily felt her smile was laden with meaning.

"Since Mrs.Russell already quit, she’s no longer one of us and shouldn’t step foot in here ever again.As the biggest shareholder, I have the right to decide."

Straightening his back, he refused to move aside.

"Mrs.Russell, we’re friends after all.I hope you won't make a scene here."

Somewhat angry, Rhea stared at him and said so, then held Lily's wrist.

"Today, I’m bringing her to visit my workplace, and I dare you to stop me!’ Lily was caught off guard and dragged along by the woman, who had not expected her to act so abruptly.Mike quickly stepped sideways and blocked their path.Angry, Rhea tried to shove him off, but he grasped her hand instead.

"I won’t let any outsiders set foot here today!"

They were caught in a stand-off.

Seeing the two glaring at each other, Lily steadied herself and raised her voice, "Enough!"
