Chapter 1520

"Mike, I feel like I’ve only just started to know you today.You're truly somebody, aren’t you?" Lily said it coldly and backed into the elevator.

"You're right.Since I already quit, I shouldn't be here.I'll leave right now, so I won't be putting you two on the spot."

"Don’t go!"

Taken aback, Rhea tried to pull her, but Lily’s wrist easily shifted to dodge her grasp.

"It’s not up to him to make the decision!"

Rhea spoke angrily as she looked at Lily.

"Don’t you want to take a look at my workplace? Don’t you want to look for what you’ve left behind and see what you want to see?"Her words were extremely tempting and yet felt like a trap.

Lily let out a half-smile.

"I wanted to, but not anymore.Mr.Corden is right.This involves your secrets, and I shouldn’t ask too much about it.Goodbye!"

She pressed the button on the elevator.

"Don’t go!"

Rhea tried to stop her, but Mike dragged her back.

Caught off-guard, Rhea knocked into him.

Missing the elevator, she saw the elevator doors shut.

"Mike!"

Glaring over her shoulder, Rhea was enraged.Mike slowly let go of her hand with an indifferent look.

"Do you know what you’ve done?"

Rhea felt like tearing him apart as she stared at him.

Reason told her that she could not do so just yet, but anger overwhelmed her.

‘This man is such a nuisance!’ Mike blandly threw her a sidelong glance.

"I can ask you the same thing.If I had not stopped you, what would you have done? Trap her here in the building? How many more people are you trying to imprison in the building?"

"She knows a lot about perfumery, kickboxing, and herbal medicine, so her brain must be different than those of ordinary people and could produce an unusual lab result that’s worth studying! You just destroyed my plan!"

Clenching her fists, Rhea wished she could punch his face.

"Are we all just specimens to you? Not human beings?"

Turning around to face her, Mike slightly narrowed his eyes and sized up the petite woman, who was only as tall as his shoulders.

‘Frankly speaking, if I see her on the street, I’d only think she’s a pretty and arrogant woman.I would never imagine her to be filled with sick ideas on experiments and so cold-hearted."

"So what?"

Raising her brow, Rhea did not think there was anything wrong with her.

"What’s the difference between human beings and animals? They’re all insignificant in the universe.Why can animals be specimens and not human beings?"

Slightly shaking his head, Mike continued, "Then what kind of specimen am I to you?"

Her beautiful fox-like eyes stared unwaveringly at him, Rhea slightly stood on her toes and craned her head as she said bluntly, "

Well, one day I'd love to crack your head open and see what’s inside!’ "Then you might not have the chance for the rest of your life."

Mike said as he curled his lips.

"It’s hard to say.We’ll have to wait and see, won’t we?"

Rhea turned and strode off.

Staring after the woman as she receded into the darkness, Mike slowly narrowed his eyes.

Lily felt relieved when she stepped out of the elevator and saw daylight.
