Chapter 1617
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
âI can understand that, but what about Alex?â Although there were medical staff taking care of him and Greg was around, Lily was still worried as the outsiders had no idea how to deal with the virus.
Fortunately, she could still use her phone.
For everyoneâs sake, she could only follow the rules and nod.
"I got it. I wonât leave and will stay right here."
Dr.Blanc sighed.
"I know Iâm asking alot from you and everyone else, but I hope you can all understand due to the unusual circumstances.I wonât be going home either."
Lily gave him a slight nod and was about to leave when she thought of something and turned around.
"Dr.Blanc, how long is the incubation period?"
"Based on what we know, it's about seven days. However, since our data is not comprehensive with limited cases within the country, weâre unsure if it'll be longer than seven days."
âI see!â In other words, she could not leave the place for at least seven days.
Lily retired to her assigned bedroom and realized the place was small but decent since it came with necessities. It was just as Dr.Blanc said.
There was also an attached bathroom for Lily to shower.
Lily supported her hips with her hands and sat down, her lower 2 back feeling sore.
She finally felt her exhaustion kicking in.She grew sleepy, probably because she finally started to relax.
She took out her phone, wanting to call and ask about Alexanderâs condition, but before she could dial the number, her eyelids shut close, and she conked out as her head drooped.
After some time, the vibration in her hand jerked her awake.
Dazed, it took her several seconds to orientate herself.
She looked at her phone and saw it was a call from Anastasia.
Lily rubbed her temples, propped herself up, and pressed the answer button.
"Hello?"
"Lily, have you not returned home lately?"
Anastasia cut to the chase and asked.
Lily grunted a yes.
"I have to tend to some matters and won't be returning anytime soon."
"Then..."
Anastasia was seemingly hesitant and did not finish her sentence.
After some thought, Lily asked, "Is it about your father again?"
"Yes..." the young woman answered.
Her voice sounded husky from crying so much.
"I know I shouldnât keep bothering you, and you must have important things to do since you havenât been home for the past few days, but...I truly have nowhere to go."
"What do you mean you have nowhere to go?"
Lily did not quite get it and involuntarily sat up.
"I ran away from home.I donât know where I should go, and Iâm scared my father will find me and bring me back.I donât know what I should do.Iâm also running low on cash because I donât dare to make payments using phone apps."
As Anastasia spoke somewhat incoherently, Lily frowned.
"Tasia, where are you now? Why did you run away from home?"
âWould Cameron become so mean? Thatâs unlike him! Although I wouldnât call him a doting father, he loves his daughter dearly.
How would he leave her stranded with nowhere to go, so much so that she has to call me for help?â
"Itâs along story.
My father listened to my cousin and locked me up after confiscating my phone.
If my father hadnât been away from home lately, I couldnât have escaped.I worry that heâll find me and lock me up again."
Anastasia paused and sniffled.
"Lily, I havenât taken your medicine recently, and Iâm tired and hungry.I truly donât know where else I can go."
