Chapter 1672
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
"What the..."
The crowd reacted in shock and confusion.
Although test subjects sometimes died, it was highly unusual that none would survive.
Besides, they had been fine for the past few days, so everyone wondered how the mice could have died so suddenly.
"I'm sure you all know these mice had been drinking the herbal medicine I made, so I have to take responsibility for their deaths,"Lily said.
Dashiell nearly burst out laughing.
"So you admit thereâs a problem with your so-called medicine, right?"
"No.On the contrary, thereâs nothing wrong with my medicine,"
Lily turned around as she spoke, very sure of it.
Dashiell scoffed.
"We are witnessing a 100% death rate now! Yet you still claim your medicine is fine? Youâre not saying the problem lies with the mice, right?"Lily only smiled at his remark.
"Thatâs right. There's something wrong with these mice."
"What the hell?"
The others looked as if she had said something ridiculous.
"Someone did something to the mice, and thatâs why they died."
She glanced aroundâno mice had survived indeed.
"You're being ridiculous!"
Dashiell chuckled coldly and took two steps forward.Since Dr.Blanc did not try to stop him, and Dashiell saw the others waiting for him to finish what he was saying, he continued, "We all know the higher-ups had given us the lab mice.n.ovelebook How come other mice are fine, and only yours died? Whatâs so special about your mice?"
Then he pretentiously asked the others, "Hey, have your mice died? What about yours? I know mine are fine!"
He spread his arms, looking forward to seeing Lily embarrass herself.
"Yes, only mine are different!"
Lily did not dodge the question and said confidently.
"Lily, what are you saying?"
Edmund frowned and cautioned her.
âIs she nuts? All the lab mice came from the same source.Weâve never encountered any problems before this.Since her mice died, sheâs trying to shift the blame instead of determining the cause. She never seemed like that kind of person to me"
"Ha, Dr.Blanc, sheâs blaming you!"
Dashiell looked smilingly over his shoulder at Dr.Blanc, wishing to inflame him.
"Our mice were distributed at your instruction. Now that she says her mice are different, what do you think?"
"Carry on,"
Dr.Blanc did not get angry and said as he calmly looked at her.
Unable to make Dr.Blanc angry, Dashiell pouted and stood aside.
Lily continued, "My test subjects are different because someone did something to them!"
"Who?" Edmund asked quickly.
"Yeah, who?"
Dashiell echoed, "I suggest you think twice before saying another word.Weâre colleagues here, and we know how we got here.If what you claimed is true, why did this person sabotage you and not others?
âJust because youâre so g*ddamn special? Why are other mice fine, and only yours died? Lily, think before you speak.Who are you insinuating to be the culprit now?"
Lily gazed at him and smiled.
"Iâm not insinuating.Iâm making a straight-out accusation against you!"
She raised her hand and pointed straight at him.
Stunned, Dashiell lost his sneer as everyone focused their gazes on him.
