The man’s initially curled-up body slowly stretched as he moved his legs. Then he turned around and sat upright before crossing his legs to face Lily. He looked up, still wearing his mask.

However, his eyes seemed even creepier and more intense as they glowed with malice. He cocked his head and looked at Lily, then glanced briefly over his shoulder at Mike before fixing his gaze on Edward.

After that, he burst into a peal of giggles again. “I truly underestimated you, huh?”

Edward gazed back grimly without a word as he stood beside the man.

Lily chuckled coldly. “You’ve underestimated a lot of people, haven’t you?”

“Tell us. Who do you work for? What kind of organization is this? What are you guys up to? How many people are in your organization?” Although she knew he would not tell the truth, she still had to try.

The man tilted his head and looked back at Lily. To her surprise, he answered readily, “Our organization is beyond your imagination.

What do you guys know? You think you’ re acting nobly for the sake of righteousness, but the truth is that nobody is nobler in the face of reality and self-interest!”

“Cut the crap!” Mike said impatiently and crouched to meet the man’s eye level. “Are you guys supported by the royal family of Yudonia? Is my son in their palace?”

He was so eager that he blurted everything before Lily could stop him. Since that was the case, Lily decided to see the man’s reaction.

The man was stunned but soon chuckled and said smugly, “You found out about the royal family, huh?

It seems like you’re not as stupid as I thought. However, even smart people do stupid things. Do you think you can change a thing by tying me up? No, you can’t! Not even the slightest!

“All you can do is watch the world improve as we enter a new era!” He looked unusually excited, gleaming with emotion as he continued, “What you’re doing can’t change a f*cking thing, as the world will change in the direction I want it to! I will ultimately dominate every human being!”

If he was not tied up, the trio could imagine him acting ostentatiously now.

“Aren't you a human being? Won’t you be dominated?” Lily interrupted by throwing him a wet blanket.

She said indifferently, “Do you think you’ll be an exception? Even now, you're working for someone else, aren't you? If you’re so powerful, you would have started your own organization without relying on others, right?

“Now you’re just someone else’s lackey. How noble can you be if you’re a lackey of the royal family?”

Her words hit the man's sore spot, and his gaze suddenly became fierce, wanting to lunge at her.

“What do you know? It’s just a process, and the world will be mine eventually! You know f*cking nothing!”

Lily smiled and shrugged. She brushed the nonexistent dust off her knees, breathed, and said light-

heartedly, “Perhaps I don’t, but I know you can’t achieve what you want without me, and I’m calling it quits!”

However, the man chuckled, neither upset nor nervous. He said, “ Do you think it’s up to you? Lily, you're too naive. Do you think you can back out at this stage?”

He leaned backward as he spoke and seemed relatively happy while looking at the ceiling. “Even if you guys could walk out of here, do you think it’l] be safe for you outside?”
