Chapter 192
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Nathaniel resented Lily but had no power over her. Hence, le shifted his target to Olivia, which would indirectly affect Lily. âWhat am I going to do?â Oliviaâs mood worsened as she held the piece of paper. âI canât work here anymore?â Jenny nodded. She also feli terrible when she heard about it. Recruiting a new employee for Rebirth was simple, but it was difficult to manage legal matters on her own.
âDonât worry just yet. Iâll figure something out.â Lily comforted Olivia.
Every problem has its solution. They were only confused because it came out of the blue.
Lily thought to liersell, âNathaniel sure moves fast. Today was Oliviaâs first day, and heâd already sent her the letter. This means heâd been keeping an eye on us, so I guess he wasnât serious when he claimed weâd go our separate ways.
âLook what he did now. How could we part ways if he continued bothering me? I held off getting even with them, but they canât wait for sh*t to happen to them. If so, Iâll be merciless! Then Lily said to Olivia, âLiv, take a break for the time being. You just moved, havenât you? Use this time to settle down and wait for my update.â
âLily...â Olivia was worried that her issue would cause problems for Rebirth. It was fine if it was just her, but she would feel bad if Rebirth got dragged into it.
Lily continued comforting her. âDonât worry about it! He canât do anything but threaten you like this while showing me the upper hand he thinks he has. No matter what, he did this because of me, and you shouldnât have been involved. Just rest at home and wait for the good news!â
Jenny added, âYeah, Lilyâs right. Donât be too worried about this. Although it sounds serious, a nonâ
compete clause wonât bring you much damage. Weâll put your recruitment process on hold, and once we settle this matter, Iâll help you with the process again!â Their words touched Olivia so much that she was at a loss for words. Olivia lowered her head at them gratefully. âThanks, Jen and Lily. Iâm so lucky to have met you both. Iâll work hard in the future!â Lily extended her hand to help Olivia straighten up.
âWhat are you talking about? Itâs your job to work hard and our responsibility to help you, isnât it? Itâs getting late. Get home quickly, or your mom will worry.â
âYeah.â
Alter Olivia left, Lily looked down at the paper in her hand as a wintry smile appeared on her face.
âLily, do you have a plan for this?â
Jenny assumed Lily had a plan in place when she calmly consoled Olivia and expressed confidence in resolving the situation, âThere are only two ways to solve this if itâs legally binding,â Lily said as she waved the paper.
Chaptat!
âThe first is that Olivia must abide by the contract and canât work in any other perfumery related company for a year. The second option is to break the agreement, in which case MN Inc. will be compensated.â
âThat means youâre planning to go with one of them?â
Lily would not pick the first option,â Jenny thought to letsell, âWhat would Olivia do for a Vear, even if we were able to replace hier temporarily? None of the businesses in this industry would lire her. Would she switch careets and return in a year?â
With that thought in mind, Jenny fell that the second way was their best choice. It was the casiest for then as they only needed to pay an amounil of compensation to MN Inc. However, it would be considerable sun. It would be difficult for Olivia to settle it on lier own, but they could not persuade the company to do so for a minor employee. âCalculate how much weâd need to compensate MN Inc., and if you guys are short on money, I can help,â Jenny said after giving it some thought.
Lily smiled. âJen, thanks for the offer, but we wonât need it. Iâm not choosing the first or the second solution. Iâin choosing⦠the third option!â
