Chapter 1933
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
"Although I donât participate in the experiment, I know the development of the drug has taken too long,"
Rick said, getting to the point, "I donât care if you canât do it or are stalling, but â'm running out of patience."
"I want to see the final result by tomorrow," he said, his tone as frigid as his gaze.
Lily frowned.
Before she could say anything, he added, "Donât give me any excuses.I donât f*cking care if you can succeed, but I want a result by tomorrow."
"So what you want is not a result but an excuse to kill me?"
Lily coldly chuckled as she spoke.
âTomorrow? How can that be possible?â Rick shook his head.
"I donât need an excuse to kill you, and I can do it anytime. For your information, I do want the drug, but weâve delayed the experiment far too many times! In short, I want the result tomorrow. As for the boss,"
he paused, "I donât f*cking care."
Then he turned aside and let out a cold sneer.
He walked past Mike and glanced at him, "Mr.Corden, seriously, your tricks are futile against the organization."
Mike was at a loss for words. He stared after Rick as the latter entered the lift without looking back.
Then the sound of the elevator slowly moving downward echoed.
"What do you think?"
Mike turned to Lily, asking, "Does he genuinely not care about the boss's whereabouts, or is he trying to mislead us?"
Since he was unfamiliar with Rick, he could not know his thoughts or how truthful his words were.
"He might not care about whether or not the âbossâ is around, but they must be planning something big.Theyâ re also running out of time."
Lily said as she thoughtfully knitted her brows.
She did not know what the organization was planning but knew they were pressed for time.
The masked man had been rushing her and yielded to talk terms with her; now Rick had even moved the deadline to tomorrow.
"How can you deliver the result by tomorrow?"
Mike complained.
Although he knew little about the experiment, he had followed its progress.
He knew how difficult it was as Lily repeated the experiment by making multiple adjustments.
Indeed, she was stalling, but the experiment proved too hard, even for her.
âIf she could do it so easily, they would have long succeeded, right?â "Well, itâs not impossible,"
Lily said casually.
Baffled, Mike looked at her and asked, "What are you talking about? Youâ re kidding, right?"
"Anyway, itâs good they are running out of time.
The more they feel rushed, the more likely theyâll expose their secret."
She thought momentarily, then said, "What do you plan to do about the boss?"
âRick said he doesnât care if the boss was around and might not even look for him"
"I have to transfer the boss somewhere else."
Mike frowned and said, "I think Rick should know about that secret room and probably hasnât considered it since the dust hasnât settled yet. When he does, theyâll surely search the place."
âItâs easy for others to learn about the bossâs whereabouts if you transfer him."
Lily became pensive, thinking it was not a good solution.
