Chapter 2001

Mike was surprised. He furrowed his brows and looked her up and down, seemingly trying to decide whether or not to trust her.

Rhea placed her arm on the car window frame and stared at him with a huge smile as if daring him to come with her.

However, Mike suspected she had an ulterior motive, so he glanced at her car, then looked over his shoulder at his.

‘This place is remote; few might notice my car if I abandon it here. Rhea calculates almost every step she makes. She intentionally led me here and might’ve even expected me to stop her.’

“Why? Are you afraid?” Rhea tapped her steering wheel and said, “Forget it then! Just remember that it’s a one-time offer, got it? Bye!”

She waved, started her car, and reversed it, seemingly preparing to leave.

“Wait a minute!” Mike could not bother if it were a trap. After all, he had been stalking her for two days, so he could not give up now. He knew it would be harder to find out what she had been doing if he did.

‘Rhea knows I’ve been stalking her all along, and I wouldn’t have known this if she hadn’t exposed me on purpose just now. Besides, I’m running out of time.’

After pondering for a moment, he turned, approached Rhea’s car, opened the passenger door, and sat beside her despite the smug look in her eyes.

‘I have to do this no matter what!’

Then Rhea drove around his car and headed forward. Mike subconsciously grabbed the handle on the side and looked toward her. “Are we going to your parent’s house?”

Rhea narrowed her eyes and dropped her smile. “Just shut up and sit tight, okay?”

She floored the gas pedal, and the car accelerated. Mike frowned and glanced at her again, only to see her driving solemnly. He knew it was too late to change his mind, so he decided not to overthink it.

Rhea drove quickly and soon reached her parent’s house. However, she did not enter through the front gate. It was understandable since people could quickly notice her arrival.

A pond was at the back of the house, so few cars went that way. Rhea drove her car into a garage and shut its door, causing it to fall into darkness. Mike exited the car and noticed it was just an ordinary garage. “This is where—”

Before he could finish, a wall inside the garage slowly moved sideways.

‘It’s a f*cking door! I can’t believe there’s a secret chamber here.’

Mike was astonished.

Although he had seen many secret chambers and passages when visiting villas and castles worldwide, he did not expect to see one inside a typical residential house.

Rhea ignored his response and headed inside, confident Mike would follow suit.
