Chapter 2019
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2019-After a while, Dominic casually said, âDid you notice a pattern with the virus?â
âItâs active during the day and dormant at night?â Austin thought for a moment and answered.
The older man nodded approvingly. âMost viruses are active at night, but this one is most active during the day. Thatâs why I slept well at night while suffering various discomforts during the day.â
Austin patted himself. After all, he had also monitored his condition over the past two days. âThis could be one of the traits the organization developed during the research. Still, I donât understand how the transmission works. How come Alex, Galen, and I are okay?â
Even so, his pulse had always been average and steady.
âLetâs say Iâm immune to the virus because Iâm the sourceâwhat about Alex and Galen? It doesnât make sense,â he quickly added after a momentary pause, âOf course, Iâm happy theyâre okay. Iâm just curious why.â
Dominic was curious about it as well.
âIf itâs not contagious, how come the servants and Austinâs parents caught it? If itâs contagious, itâs a miracle Alex and Galen are fine.â
âI believe weâll find out soon. Although the virus is tough to crack, itâs not too deadly.â
The older man took a deep breath, then shut Austin up with a look. âOf course, we donât know its long-
term impacts on human bodies, but we know it wonât instantly kill us, at least for now.
âStill, itâs very harmful,â Austin said, concerned.
âIt is.â Dominic nodded. âBut look at me. Although Iâm old and have suffered a lot, Iâm still alive!â
He sounded somewhat proud as he continued, âThe virus couldnât even beat me, so itâs not that deadly, okay?â
Austin was amused. Simultaneously, he was glad his granduncle was in high spirits. After all, they only stood a chance to fight the virus when their will remained strong.
âYouâre right.â He nodded. âVery soon, weâll be able to counter it!â
Dominic said, âThe best time to do it is at night.â
Surprised, Austin quickly caught on. âIâll get ready. Letâs deal with the virus tonight. Wait, am I good enough for acupuncture?â
He could not help but hesitate. He knew Dominic wanted him to perform the treatment, but he had never done it despite seeing others perform it often. Besides, he had no precedents to refer to and had to rely on his experience. He worried about making mistakes.
âYou have to ask yourself that question!â Dominic smiled.
The smile encouraged Austin.
âHeâs right. If a physician doesnât believe in themself, how can they make a patient trust them?â
He nodded vigorously. âYes, I am good enough. Leave it to me!â
