Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2061-Edward ran toward a corner and slipped into a room, dragging Alexander along. The door shut independently, and the duo soon heard hurried footsteps outside as people rushed by. “Is there really an intruder? How can anyone break in so easily?”

“Didn’t you smell the sedative? There has to be a trespasser somewhere. Come on!” The people’s voices trailed off as they left, seemingly searching for the intruder.

Alexander relaxed and looked at Edward, saying, “Didn’t I tell you to…”

He did not finish his sentence, knowing he would have been in trouble if not for Edward. Although Alexander could handle these men, he could not continue his search for Cameron if he attracted too much attention.

“I was worried about you. Besides, there’s a secret chamber here too. You might not be able to find it if I hadn’t shown up,” Edward whispered, “Anyway, you’re lucky you didn’t try to get into that lab just now.”

Alexander nodded. “I know it requires fingerprints or an iris scan to gain access. I have Lily’s fingerprint, so there shouldn’t be a problem.”

However, Edward shook his head. “Not really. You can’t go in even if you use her fingerprint.”

Alexander was puzzled. “Didn’t Lily conduct her experiments here?

“She spent most of her days here, but they conduct their top-secret and core operations in that lab. It’s impossible to enter without the higher-ups’ fingerprints or irises.”

“Then…”

“Your wife’s fingerprints wouldn’t have worked,” Edward continued, “They wanted her to join them but also didn’t trust her. As far as I know, only someone named Rick, the ‘boss,’ and Rhea Moore could enter.”

“Not even Mike?” Alexander asked after some thought.

“He supervises the experiments here but doesn’t have access. They probably don’t trust him either.”

Alexander felt conflicted with Edward’s words.

‘Indeed, the organization is cautious. They don’t even trust those who work for them. No wonder they abandoned this place.’

“So, we must rely on Rhea to open that door, huh?” Alexander said thoughtfully.

‘The “boss” is dead, and his fingerprints are probably useless now. As for that Rick guy, we have no idea where he is. Still, I have Rhea hostage now. I would’ve created her artificial fingerprint if I knew this would happen.’

“It doesn’t matter. I’m sure Secretary Rollins isn’t inside that lab,” Edward said with certainty.

Alexander frowned. “Why are you so sure?”

Edward nodded and said, “The organization designed that lab to house the most important experiments, so its environment is terrible. Various toxic substances lie inside, and the air circulation is less than ideal.

“If an ordinary person got locked inside there, they would probably die within two days. People used to conduct experiments inside, but there was still some airflow due to people coming in and out.

“With the door locked, I doubt anyone can survive if they’re trapped inside now.”
