“No. Despite the experiment, I’m not your enemy. I’m also not in a position to laugh at anyone.” Lily spread her arms, indicating she was also a prisoner. “I’m just wondering if you’ll consider working with me?”

She leaned forward while holding her glass of water and looked at the queen earnestly.

The queen was puzzled. “You want me to work with you? Now?”

She chuckled, thinking it was an absurd proposition.

“That’s right,” Lily calmly continued, “Let’s work together to save ourselves.”

“How are we supposed to do that?” The queen seemed to have lost her confidence. “We can’t even walk out of the room now.”
