Chapter 2206
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Alexander laughed and refilled Dominicâs glass, asking, âDidnât you say she couldnât have become invisible?â âT want to see how she makes a fool of herself, okay?â Dominic spoke bluntly with widened eyes.
Alexander laughed.
âWell, I'l] let you know when we catch her.â After dining and chitchatting, they heard a flurry of footsteps approaching.
Galen excitedly hurried over and asked, âDaddy, is that you?!â A maid was close behind, trying to catch up.
âDaddy!â The boy threw his arms onto Alexander.
âItâs really you, Daddy!â âYes, itâs me!â Alexander grew emotional as he held his son and inhaled his scent.
He missed Galen so much that he did not want to let go.
âYou little rascal!â Dominic said in a stern voice but did not drop his smile.
âWhat about my hug?â Galen turned to look at him and pouted.
âYou're drinking again!â âWhat do you care?â Dominic put down his glass.
âYour dad came to pick you up.
Canât I celebrate a little?â Elated, Galen turned to his father.
âDaddy, is that true? Are you bringing me home?â âYes, lam.â Surprised, Alexander nodded and looked at Dominic.
âHow did youââ âHow did I know youâre taking him back?â Dominic snorted.
â Since the twins have returned home, I figured you would want to bring Galen back too.â Having expected this, the older man grew sentimental.
â Nowadays, even a family reunion is hard to come by, isnât it?â Alexander looked saddened as well.
Not quite getting it, Galen asked, âHave my brother and sister returned? Has Mommy returned?â
âMommy hasnât come back yet.â Alexander held his sonâs shoulders with both hands and said thoughtfully, âShe still has something to do.
Sheâll come back after that.â âwill she?â Galen looked so disappointed that the two adults felt sorry for him.
âYes, Iâm sure she will!â Alexander nodded.
âYour momâs a tough one, okay? She'll be fine,â Dominic said steadily.
Alexander could not tell if he was trying to make them feel better or truly believed so.
âItâs late.
We should get going.â Alexander checked his watch.
He knew traveling late was not safe.
Moreover, the others needed him at the house.
âGoodbye then!â Dominic waved.
âCome visit when Lily returns, okay?â âwe will.â Alexander nodded as he rose, carrying his son.
Galen waved back.
âBye-bye, Grandpa!â âBye!â Dominic did not see them off.
Instead, he slowly looked up at the darkening sky and let out a long sigh after the father and sonâs footsteps faded.
