Chapter 2212
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Cameron realized he could not gain any helpful information from Fabian and turned to leave.
Fabian called his name indifferently, âRon.â
Cameron stopped and turned to see his brother-in-law in the same position. Fabian said, âYou have a daughter too. What would you do if she committed a crime? Would you report her to the police?
Besides, arenât you responsible for whatâs happening to my family?â
Fabian slowly turned to look at Cameron. âYou were obsessed with building your career, so my sister had to care for the family alone. She almost fell into depression. After she died, we helped you care for Tasia.
âRhea has only got astray because we neglected her. What about you? You got what you wanted yet refused to help me despite what I had done for many years. Ron, Youâre more heartless than Rhea.â
Cameron was speechless.
Fred said emphatically, âI donât care how many people Rhea harmed. She has never hurt me or her mother. Sheâs my daughter, so I wonât tell you anything. Just get the hell out of my face!â
When Cameronâs footsteps faded, he looked at the ceiling and sighed. Fabian would never tell Cameron anything, even if he knew something. He knew it was pointless to count on Cameron to save him now.
âSomeone like Cameron only cares about the law, but Rheaâs different. I might have a chance to escape if she can cause enough trouble.â
After so many years, Fabian realized he could never depend on outsiders. Instead, his daughter had become his only hope.
Back in the car, Cameron looked grim.
Anastasia saw his expression and thought momentarily before saying, âUncle Fabian refused to talk?
Should I go talk to him?â
âItâs okay.â Cameron shook his head and sighed. With Fabianâs words still echoing, Cameron looked over his shoulder at his daughter.
âWhat would you do if she committed a crime? Would you report her to the police?â
If it were the past, Cameron would have said yes. Nothing was more important than justice to him.
However, after seeing Anastasiaâs concerned expression, he remembered how much he owed his wife.
âWould I be able to punish Tasia if she committed a crime? Iâm not sure what Iâd do. I guess Iâll only find out if it ever happened someday.
âUncle Fabian might not know the answer since he hasnât been close to Rhea. How about I ask Aunt Maria instead?â Anastasia asked thoughtfully. She was eager to help her father.
âArenât you afraid she might tell you off?â Cameron knew that had happened last time. He patted his daughterâs head and said, âItâs okay. Iâll look for other ways.â
