Chapter 2214
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Lily expected Fabian to appear, but it was Rhea instead. Lily was shocked. However, she knew Rhea also did not expect to see her. Rhea chuckled meaningfully and said, âFancy seeing you here.â
Lily narrowed her eyes. âI didnât expect you to come.â
âWhy? Canât I be here?â Rhea walked over and sat on the bed. âYou seem to be enjoying yourself here.â
She looked Lily up and down, saying, âOh, you unloaded the cargo, huh?â
Upset by her choice of words, Lily said, âWhy are you here?â
âTo achieve my dreams, of course! Donât worry, Iâm not the one who will experiment on you,â Rhea said indifferently.
She dangled her legs and looked around. âThey finished your checkup, huh? That means the final phase is about to begin. Should I congratulate you?â
Rheaâs gloating tone dripped with sarcasm.
Lily sneered, âYou should. After all, Iâll make history by completing a legendary experiment. Too bad you donât have a chance to do something so significant to humankind.â
Rheaâs smile froze as she looked at Lily in confusion. âArenât you scared?â
âWhy would I be scared? We are bound to die, after all. Besides, my accomplishments will be a crucial milestone in human history. Many would do anything to take my place now.â Lily looked excited about the experiment.
âBut youâre going to die! Your body will live on, but youâre no longer yourself without your consciousness and soul.â Ironically, Rhea seemed more anxious, even though Lily would face this.
Lily nodded calmly. âI donât give a shit. As I said, everyone dies sooner or later.â
âWhat about your kids? Based on what I know, you already have three children, right? If you die, theyâll lose their mom forever!â Rhea asked tentatively, unconvinced that Lily meant what she said.
Rhea was disappointed because she thought Lily would break down in fear. However, the latter was calm and even looked forward to the experiment.
âHow can she remain so calm and indifferent? She must be faking it!â
With that thought in mind, Rhea purposely mentioned Lilyâs children to agitate her.
Lily raised her brow and said, âOf course, I feel bad for them.â
Before Rhea could gloat, she added, âBut many children are far worse off than them. Some have neglectful parents, and others donât even have parents. My children are much luckier than those kids.
Donât you think so?
Rhea was surprised and at a loss for words.
