Chapter 2236
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Spoiled by mr. russell chapter 2236-Alexander and Austin could not understand why Mike admitted it.
âIsnât he under the drugâs control? If not, why would he obey Rheaâs commands? Did we guess wrongly, and Mikeâs willingly working with Rhea? Is he confronting us to show off what he did?â
Not keeping them in suspense, Mike continued, âYes, I was the one who freed Rhea, and I did it on purpose.â
âShe hypnotized me,â Mike added.
âHypnotized?â The other two did not consider that.
However, hearing the term, Austin felt it made more sense now.
âHypnosis,â Mike nodded and continued, âOf course, she might have used some drug, but I wasnât sure how it worked.
What I do know is that she performed hypnosis on me. She wanted to control me so that I would let her go. So, I did.â
Austin blinked in confusion. He held up a hand and said, âHang on. What did you just say? You knew she wanted you to free her, and you just did it?â
When Mike nodded, Austin could not help but say, âDo you know what youâre talking about? Are you under her control or not? You arenât still in a hypnotized state, are you?â
He curiously snapped his fingers in Mikeâs face. Austin saw that was how one could break a hypnotic trance in the movies and wondered if it would work.
Alexander held Austinâs hand down and looked at Mike. âShe didnât hypnotize you, did she?â
Alexander was initially confused, but seeing Mikeâs mindset, he roughly understood what had happened.
Mike nodded gently. âI wasnât.â
âSo youââ Before Austin could finish, Alexander said, âHe did it on purpose.â
Austin was puzzled while Mike looked at Alexander confirmingly.
âThatâs right. When I realized Rhea was trying to get me to free her through hypnosis, I thought for a long time before deciding to let her go,â Mike said candidly.
Austin could not help but ask, âDo you genuinely believe she would rescue your son?â
âNo, I just wanted to see what sheâs up to and use her to find out whatâs happening inside the embassy.â
âSo youâre trying to become a double agent?â
The term seemed inaccurate, but Alexander could not devise a better descriptor.
âI guess you can say that,â Mike said, âI couldnât think of a better way. We were getting nowhere back then, so I did it when I realized what she was up to.â
âWhy didnât you discuss this with us?â Austin could not get it.
After all, they would not have needed much effort studying the incident if Mike told them about it earlier.
âI worried she might see through me if it wasnât convincing enough,â Mike said quietly, âRhea is as sly as a fox. If I told you about it and you hadnât tried looking everywhere for her, she would surely grow suspicious.
âTherefore, the best way is not to tell anyone about it. Only by pretending Iâm now under her control would she believe she has succeeded.â
Alexander nodded thoughtfully. Everything seemed to make sense now. He said, âI still have a question for you.â
