Chapter 2248
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
âYour Highness, I know youâre upset and worried about Her Majestyâs safety, but what matters most is to locate her now.
You can punish me however you like after she returns safely. I know Iâve failed you and her,â Fred said earnestly.
âThen tell me, how am I supposed to find her?â Ross gazed coldly at him.
Fred answered, âItâs best if someone could look for Her Majesty so we know sheâs safe.â
âAre you suggesting I approach the Hyderland government?â Ross said, raising his brow.
Fred shook his head. âOf course not! The less people know about it, the better. If not, this would put Her Majesty in even greater danger.â
âYou donât want to alert the authorities here? Fred, do you think weâre in our country? Would they let you do whatever you like in Hyderland?â Ross slammed the coffee table.
Startled, Fred continued, âYour Highness, I know I might sound unreasonable, but think about it. If this gets out, itâll endanger Her Majesty, and the government here will know she has been secretly looking around the country.
âIt would significantly impact the ties between our countries and how the world sees us. Therefore, we can only do it in secret,â Fred said.
Ross sipped some water and asked, âCanât we track her phoneâs location?â
âWe tried. We could no longer trach Her Majesty after her last contact with me. I figure she mustâve gone to a more remote area. As you know, there are many mountainous regions in Hyderland, and she might not be getting any signal there.â
His explanation sounded reasonable, but Ross was upset. âYou knew she was going on a long journey, yet you allowed her to go all alone? What the hell were you thinking?â
âYour Highness, I wanted to keep her company but was tied up with my work. If I were absent for too long, people might get suspicious. Moreover, Her Majesty didnât want to attract too much attention and insisted on going on a journey alone ââ
Ross interrupted, âA journey for what?â
âShe is trying to find ancient books on medicine and healing traditions among the local tribes. Iâm unsure because she hasnât told me in detail.â Scratching his head, Fred looked quite puzzled.
âYou knew nothing, yet you allowed her to put herself in danger?â Ross glared at him. âYou should be ashamed of yourself!â
âI couldnât stop her, Your Highness!â Fred exclaimed innocently. âBesides, she only brought several guards and attendants and hurriedly left. I⦠Your Highness, letâs not delay it any longer. You must locate Her Majesty as soon as possible before anything bad happens!â
