Chapter 2269
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
âNow that Fred thinks youâve left Kingsland, heâs likely to make a move soon,â Alexander said as he placed his hands on the coffee table.
âHe did nothing before this.
Although Lily would be safe for a while, we couldnât do anything for her.
As long as he does something, Iâm sure weâll be able to locate her.â He could only wish that things would happen the way he wanted.
Ross said as he raised a brow, âIâm curious.
Why the hell are they holding your wife captive? âSo that the queen can live on forever?â Alexander shrugged.
âAnd how would that be possible?â âWe feel the same way, but some believe in the experiment.â
Alexander sighed.
âItâs a difficult position for the prince to be in, isnât it?â he pondered, âOn the one hand, he doesnât want anything bad to happen to his mother.
On the other, if the queen truly lives forever, how will he deal with it? Heâll grow old while his mother stays young and continues to rule the country till the day he dies.â Mike asked worriedly, âYour Highness, Rhea hasnât discovered youâve been deceiving her, right?â âI doubt it.â Ross shook his head.
âIâve never been this obedient to anyone before.â He was right.
Rhea would never suspect that the prince was just playing along.
âShe even wants me to report my whereabouts and send her a location update daily.â He turned to Alexander.
âCan you do something about that?â Giving him an okay sign, Alexander said, âDonât worry, we can take care of that using a computer.â Changing IP addresses and geolocations was simple.
As for video calls, they could just set up a background when Ross talked to Rhea.
âI have a question.â Ross scanned their faces.
âIf Fred did all this for my mom, why must he hide her?â The trio was surprised like the others, and Mike asked, âPerhaps Her Majesty doesnât want to see you, so she told Fred to lie that she went missing?â âI donât think so.â Ross shook his head.
âShe couldâve just told me she had stuff to do and instructed me to return to Yudonia.
Thereâs no need for so much drama.â The others thought he was right, but they could not come up with any better explanation.
Edward then cleared his throat.
He hesitated about whether to speak up since it was not his place.
Glancing at him, Alexander said, âJust speak your mind.
This is my assistant and friend, Edward Sullivan.â Edward was touched.
Although he knew Alexander treated him as a friend, he appreciated being mentioned as one in front of an important guest.
