Chapter 2289
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
After hanging up, Mike quickly went to knock on Alexander and Austinâs bedroom doors, telling them to come out. Mike said, âShe wants the invisibility potion formula.â The other two exchanged looks with Mike and said in unison, âFat chance.â Alexander nodded and said, âSheâs pretty greedy, huh?â âWhat should we do?â Mike asked.
âThereâs no invisibility potion to begin with. We canât give Rhea a fake formula, can we?â Austin shrugged.
However, Alexander said thoughtfully, âPerhaps⦠we can.â
Austin was baffled.
âWell, can you tell if a formula is fake right away?â Alexander asked.
Austin shook his head. âNo, I can only tell after I experiment with it.â
He caught on to Alexanderâs intentions but still did not think it would work. âEven so, it wouldnât work. Iâll find out the formula is fake in the end.â
âBut youâll have to experiment with it first,â Alexander continued, âBesides, she would assume itâs based on their research. Thereâs no guarantee it would work.â
Austin rubbed his chin pensively. âYouâre right.â
After all, not every study was accurate.
Still not getting it, Mike asked, âWhatâs the point of giving her a fake formula?â
Alexander looked at him. âItâs the process that matters.â
âAre you suggesting I find out whatâs going on in the embassy when I give her the formula?â Mike asked.
It sounded like a good idea, but he thought otherwise. âI donât think itâll work.
Even Prince Ross failed to find out anything and was forced to leave. Fred seems to know everything.â
âThings are different now, and Dominic is still there.â Alexander shook his head.
âBesides, time is running out. The duke must be getting anxious, and I bet heâs going to make mistakes.â
Austin added, âThatâs right. Itâll be great if you can find out how my granduncle is doing.â
âAll right then.â Mike nodded. âWhen should I go? Tomorrow?â
âNo, the day after tomorrow.â
âWhy?â
Alexander said, âSince you told Rhea you didnât know where the researchers were, sheâll get suspicious if you give it to her too soon. Also, you must tell her you canât guarantee the formula would work.â
Mike caught on. âI see.â
âAlex is right,â Austin said, âShould we tell Dr. Blanc about it first?â
âIt wonât be necessary. Dr. Blanc was just doing us a favor back then.â Alexander looked toward Mike.
âHe doesnât need to know.â
Glancing at the two, Austin sighed and sat down. âI wonder how Uncle Dom is doing now.â
âThey mustâve abducted him to get him to do something. Heâll be fine until they no longer need him,â
Alexander said.
