Chapter 2303
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
As everything came too suddenly, no one else knew about it. After making all the necessary arrangements, Fred proceeded to the queenâs room.
He had stationed his trusted aides there to give her the best possible care, but her condition had worsened over the past two days.
Initially, Fred even suspected she and Lily had conspired on this as they both experienced health issues simultaneously.
However, upon reflection, he realized they had no reason to work together.
Besides, they could not have planned it, even if they wanted to. After all, Fred had locked them in separate areas.
He entered the room and saw the queen breathing weakly in bed. He hurried over and bent down, warmly calling her, âYour Majesty? Your Majesty?â The queenâs eyes remained closed despite some movements. It was unclear whether she lacked strength or simply did not want to look at him.
Fred waved the others off and held the queenâs hand. He said softly, âItâs me, Your Majesty. Iâve come to see you. You can hear me, right?â The queenâs eyelids twitched but did not open. Fred then sat beside the bed and continued, âI know you resent me due to misunderstandings, but I donât mind. I know what Iâm doing and what I want.
âIâm sure youâre the same, right, Your Majesty?â He gazed at her and said, âThe experiment was your idea. When I heard it for the first time, I knew it was something remarkable.
âAll these years, Iâve been working hard to fulfill yourâno, our dream! Now that weâre so close to success, you must hang on, okay?â He squeezed her hand as if it could give her strength.
âI know you can do it. You have always accomplished what you wanted to do, and this time is no different,â Fred lowered his voice and said, âYou know what?
Besides R10, thereâs R20 now. There will also be R30, R40, and many other creations.
âWeâll become increasingly advanced, and our nation will control the most cutting-edge technology in the world. Wouldnât you like to see it for yourself?â The queenâs eyelids moved as if she was trying to wake up.
Fred was thrilled, knowing his words would work because she cared about her country. âYour Majesty, we will proceed with the R10 experiment tomorrow, okay? I believe you will pull through.
âAlthough the doctors said itâs not the best time, I fear you wonât be able to wait any longer.â Fred sighed and patted the back of the queenâs hand. âLetâs take a risk, okay? Iâm sure itâll work. If it doesnâtâ¦â He did not finish the sentence. As if lost in thought, he gazed ahead.
âIf it doesnât work, then what?â Suddenly, the queen spoke. Although her voice was weak, Fred could still hear it as he was close by.
Surprised, he looked at her. âYouâre awake! I knew you could pull through.â âFredâ¦â The queen struggled to call his name.
