Chapter 2305
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
The queen loosened her grip on the bedsheet and sighed as she lay back down.
She stared at the ceiling and asked, âWhereâs Lily?â âSheâs doing well and is waiting to become your vessel. Rest assured, Iâve taken good care of your new body,â Fred said smilingly.
âMy body?â The queen looked at him. âWhat about your new body, Fred? Have you already prepared one?â
Stunned, he caught himself and chuckled. âWhat are you talking about, Your Majesty? The experiment weâre doing is for you. Iâm still young, arenât I?â
âYes, but for how long?â the queen said coldly, âFred, youâre brilliant for planning everything ahead.
Youâve worked so hard to make the experiment happen so you can use me as a guinea pig, huh?â
âThatâs notââ Fred stopped himself and suddenly began to laugh. His laughter grew louder and wilder as if he could not contain it.
âYouâre clever, Your Majesty, and you know me best. All right, itâs as you said.
However, you donât have to get mad,â he said steadily, âNo matter what, you stand to gain from the experiment if it succeeds.
âYouâll be the first who does. Just imagine. Youâll stay young and live forever.
How wonderful that will be?!â
The queen wanted what Fred claimed, but now that she was lying on the bed, she had somehow changed her mind.
âHave you ever wondered what would happen when we pull off the experiment?â the queen asked solemnly, âNow that youâve told me everything, do you think I will still keep you alive when it succeeds?â
âWhy not?â Fred asked, sounding carefree and confident. âDid you forget that I brought your people here? I have many supporters in the country, too. When the experiment succeeds, youâll look like an ordinary Hylander. What can you do to me?â âFred, thatâs treason,â the queen said coldly.
âNo, Your Majesty, Iâm doing this for Yudoniaâs future!â He took a deep breath.
âSo you must hang on for now. Youâll finally see what Iâll achieve when the experiment works.
âAt least by then, Iâll have you to share the joy with.â He paused and added, âYouâre the one who thought about the experiment, and youâve been looking forward to its completion for so long.
âI bet no one wishes for it to succeed as much as you. You must rest well, Your Majesty. Your dream will come true tomorrow. Iâm sure you look forward to it as much as I do!â
Fred then strode out of the room and beckoned the doctors. âTake good care of Her Majesty, and ensure she stays alive!â
The queen could only lay in the room and listen to his voice as it faded away.
