Chapter 430
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
âYes, pretend you didnât see it.â Lily turned around and looked at the standing wooden crane sculpture, âYou can consider it a break. Thereâs not much time for you to relax as the new work is about to start.â
âWe have a new project?â Olivia was eager. She had not worked in a while, and her hands were beginning to itch. Even though working in a lab might be exhausting, it was gratifying.
âSoon!â
It shocked Alexander when he saw the wooden crane sculpture in the living room as soon as he got home.
It stood out!
âThis is...â He said hesitantly.
Lily had just cleared up some space and was about to move the sculpture when she saw him return.
She waved at him, âYou came back just in time. Come help me move it.â
âDo you still need help moving this?â He took off his coat, rolled up his sleeve, and waved her away. He lifted the sculpture and moved it to the spot she cleared up.
âYou bought it?â
âSomeone gave it to me.â Lily shook her head and looked at it carefully.
The artistry was exquisite, the lines were smooth, the sculpture was lifelike, and even the eyes were charming. She liked it very much as she examined âThatâs what you mentioned on the phone this morning?â Alexander pointed his finger at it in surprise.
He thought it was someoneâs prank and did not expect it to be this. It was pretty novel. Still, whoever sent this to a girl showed a lot of originality.
âYeah.â She held her chin with one hand and nodded again.
Alexander felt jealous when he saw her thoughtful look. He narrowed his eyes, âIs it a guy?â
âYeah.â She continued nodding her head..
She was thinking of something else. Since Benedict sent this over, he did not plan to disappear entirely and would appear again, right?
Alexander rolled his sleeve up further, turned around, and carried the wooden sculpture again.
Lily returned to her senses, âHey, what are you doing?â
âThrowing it away!â He said righteously.
âDonât. I want to give it to someone!â She grabbed his arm and prevented him from touching it. She feared he would have the same thought again and held his hands too.
âGive it to someone? Who is it?â Upon hearing this, he became even more vigilant.
Lily felt helpless but found his guarded face funny, âGiving it to someone elderly, okay?â
âElderly...â He looked back at the wooden sculpture. It looked like an angelic creature, and it was appropriate to send it to an older person. He calmed down and asked, âWho? Why have I never heard you mention it?â
Lilyâs expression darkened upon hearing this, and she looked distressed.
