“What do you mean?!” Kasey did not want to back off. “Only professionals will know how to appreciate what this grass can provide. They don’t, but you do! Didn’t you say you’re a perfumer? Tell them how ridiculous they are for not knowing this!”

Lily felt helpless. She was only there to buy the raw material from Kasey. Lily did not want to teach anyone or give any professional opinions.

“As I said, everyone has their preferences. You can’t make everyone like what you like. It’s like how some people prefer the sweetness of osmanthus, while some prefer the freshness of citrus. Some even enjoy the coolness of mint. I bought your grass because we both enjoy this smell and because you want to sell it. That’s all.”

Lily felt that this was a straightforward exchange. She did not understand why Kasey had to complicate it.

“I’m here to buy things, not to compete.” She did not want to waste more time here and turned to Kasey again. “Little girl, you promised to sell it to me. You must keep your word when it comes to business.

You can’t just go back on your words like that.”

“I am retracting my offer! I don’t want to sell it!” Kasey exclaimed. Then she looked around and continued, “I will only sell it to you if you can prove to them that I did not pay you and that you’re a real perfumer. Once they admit defeat, I’ll sell it to you!”
