Spoiled By Mr. Russell By Luminous Night Chapter 595
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Over the past few days, Arianna did not have the time to watch Lilyâs every move because there was a bigger problem at home.
No matter how unwilling or repelled she felt, Joseph brought his illegitimate son home and acknowledged him as part of the Tanner family. She was a step too slow.
After only glancing at him, Arianna went to look for her uncle, Derrick. She understood that her mother could not stop this from happening anymore. If there were anyone who could stop her lunatic father, it would be Derrick.
âUncle Derrick, I heard you havenât been feeling well recently. I got someone to bring these nutritious supplements back from overseas for you, and I hope youâll be in better health after taking them.â
Smiling, she pointed at the things she brought while appearing obedient.
Derrick nodded and coughed a few times before he spoke. âYouâre a thoughtful one. Why didnât your parents come with you?â
you and âMy mom has been busy with the Womenâs Federation, but she always worries about tells me to visit you wherever Iâm free. As for my dadâ¦â After a pause, Arianna said reluctantly, âHeâs pretty busy too.â
Derrick raised his gaze to look at her, smiling. âHeâs busy handling that brother of yours, isnât he?â
Ariannaâs heart almost stopped upon hearing that. She was not surprised by his knowledge of the matter but rather by his attitude toward it. It was not something unusual for Derrick to know about the matter. However, he referred to the boy as Ariannaâs brother, so did that mean he accepted the boy into the family?
She pursed her lips while remaining calm. With a smile, she nodded. âYeah! Uncle Derrick, I didnât expect you to know about it. I was afraid my dad was too impatient and had forgotten to inform you about it.â
âIndeed, heâs impatient.â Derrick agreed but added, âItâs understandable, though.â
âThank you for being understanding. I thought you would disapprove of it at first.â
Arianna looked down at her hands, her eyes quickly losing their shine. The gears in her mind were turning as she had to think of a plan should Derrick agree to what her father did.
âDisapprove? This is your fatherâs private matter. In other words, itâs your familyâs matter, so what could I say as an uncle?â
âThatâs not it. Youâre still my dadâs eldest brother and the head of the entire Tanner family. Not only that, youâre the closest person to me too. Our family only became this successful and highly regarded in Sapphine because of you, Uncle Derrick. That is why we would listen to your opinions, as long as itâs for the familyâs good.â
Arianna observed Derrickâs expression. âIncluding my dad. Heâll listen to your words too.â
âReally?â Derrick chuckled before his gaze landed on Arianna again. While staring into her eyes, he asked, âWhat do you want me to say then?â
His words made Arianna wave her hands frantically. âNo, nothing! I wouldnât dare to ask you for anything. Itâs just that I thought you would object to my younger brother being a part of the family.
After all, he was born out of wedlock.â âYou mean to say that heâs an illegitimate chill?â
Derrick probably spoke too much since his cough worsened. Hic look oul a tissue, spat his phlegm out, and felt much better.
âThatâs not what I mean, Uncle Derek. Regardless if heâs an illegitimate son or not, heâs still my fatherâs son and my brother.â Arianna would never admit she was against what her father did.
Even if that was her honest thoughts, she had to pretend to be magnanimous, at least before her father and the other Tanners. She had to show the others she was accepting of that boy being a part of the family.
