Chapter 734
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Chapter 734.
Derrick heaved a heavy sigh and looked out the window over his shoulder.
"Heâs a grownup now, and thereâs no way I can keep him by my side.He has his way of thinking.Just let him be."
"No matter what, he should stay by your side now that youâre sick."
Before Joseph could continue, Derrick cut him off.
"Forget it.If he doesnât return, then so be it.l just pretend I never had a son.Iâm getting a bit tired, so you should leave."
Joseph wanted to say something, but Derrick had already closed his eyes, looking exhausted.
The younger brother got up to say goodbye to Derrick and his wife.
"Iâll visit some other day, okay? Donât worry about the company.Iâll manage it well."
He paused and saw Derrickâs eyes still closed as if asleep.
Stephanie wiped her tears and said, "I'll see you off."She followed Joseph out the door and stopped at the elevator.
"I wonât go downstairs with you since your brother still needs me.I donât know much about the business, so Iâm counting on you guys to put extra effort into running it, okay?"
As she turned to leave, Joseph stopped her.
"What did the doctor say about his condition?"
"The doctor says he has been overworked and has to recuperate. It shouldnât be too...serious."
Stephanie heaved a sigh and looked downward.
Although she tried to sound casual, she was evidently holding back her tears.
"That's good.Then...where did Benedict go? Why donât I give him a call? Iâm still his uncle, after all.Perhaps he might listen to me."
"No, thereâs no need!"
Stephanie looked flustered as she shook her head.
"He's held up by something and will be back soon. No, donât rush him.Go.Donât worry.Iâll be here taking care of your brother."
She turned and headed toward the ward, wiping her tears.
Joseph stared at Stephanie and fell into deep thought.
âIt seems to me it's not that Benedict has refused to return, but no one can contact him instead.I sent my men to investigate, but they couldn't obtain any news about him either.Has he met with some kind of accident? If itâs so, it will be a God-sent opportunity!â Joseph was in a great mood while leaving the hospital.
He felt that everything that had happened was in his favor.
The ownership of the Tanner Corporation seemed within his reach after all.
Damian was waiting for him in his office when he returned.
"Dad."
Joseph saw the files in his hands and nodded.
"Is the perfume a success and ready for launch?"
"Yes, Iâve completed the plan for you to go over.Iâve arranged everything from packaging to marketing to endorsement and ads.The ad shoot will finish in two days, and Iâve booked the primetime slots on all major TV networks.Everything is ready, and I guarantee we'll sell out our perfumes!"
Damian claimed confidently.
"Thatâs wonderful!"
Joseph happily browsed through the file and was impressed by the all-encompassing plan.
"You did well, Damian! Remember to ensure that production can keep up.Tell the production line they need to prepare to accommodate our perfumes."
"I already did, Dad, donât worry,"
Damian smilingly answered before he paused and revealed a troubled expression.
"Itâs just that "
"What is it?"
"Itâs just that the budget is a bit..."
Damian rubbed his fingers together, signaling that the budget was tight.
