Chapter 954
Spoiled by Mr. Russell
Chapter 954.
Seeing his confused and irritated look, Margaret said, "Tell me about it then. What was she doing at the time, and what were you doing? What did the two of you talk about? Iâll analyze the situation and see if you did or said anything wrong to make her unhappy."
Margaret's words shocked Ralph, who shifted slightly to the side and looked at his mother in disbelief.
"Mom! Youâre kidding me, arenât you? You want to analyze the situation for me? How would you know whatâs in her head? Sheâs so much younger than you are!"
"What? Are you calling me an old woman?"
Displeased, Margaret threw him a sidelong glance and asked.
"No, no, no! Thatâs not what I meant.I just wanted to say that you might not be able to guess what she is thinking."
"Thatâs hard to say."
Margaret seemed confident.
"You donât understand this. We're both women, and I'd understand her better than you, you silly boy.Come on, are you going to tell me? Iâm leaving if youâre not going to say anything.By then, you can think about it yourself!"
Margaret was about to get up, and it made Ralph give it some thought.
âWhatever.Rather than being frustrated alone, I might as well listen to what she has to say"
He quickly held Margaretâs wrist to stop her from walking away.
"Mom! I'll tell you everything, all right?"
Then, he started to recount todayâs incident.
"I went shopping today and wanted to buy her a gift.I bought a pearl bracelet, and when I came out of the store, I saw her at the cafe opposite the street. What a coincidence, right?"
Margaret nodded.
"And then?"
"And then I saw that she was not alone. She was drinking coffee with a man.I donât know who the man is, and Iâve never seen him before.I thought she was on a blind date with another man and had gotten caught by me! Mom, she's already engaged to me but was drinking coffee with another man.How could she do that?"
Ralph would still get mad wherever he thought about it.
At this point in the story, Margaret raised her brow.
"So you went to reprimand her for it?"
"I did not!"
Ralph shook his head and continued, "You think I shouldâve done that too, donât you? But the man left as soon as I entered through the door, so they were obviously guilty of doing something wrong! I just reminded her a little about her identity and asked her who the man was. Then, her expression turned dark because of that!"
"You deserve it!"
Margaret scoffed.
"She was already being merciful by not beating you up on the spot."
Ralph was stunned for a moment, unable to believe that his mother had just said those words, before he whined, "Mom! How could you say that? Iâm your son!"
"Iâm teaching you a lesson here precisely because youâre my son!"
Margaret threw him a sideways glance, shaking her head as she sighed.
"Sheâd get angry at you when you accuse her of such a thing.Donât you remember who she is?"
"Do you think sheâs like any other women you fooled around with in the past? Her family background is on par with ours, and we have this arranged marriage for the mutual benefit of the two parties.
Do you understand that? The both of you havenât gotten married yet, but youâre already interfering with her private life.
Why would you say that she was on a blind date? What if she was just having coffee with a friend?
Doesnât she have the right to do that?"
"Te n "Even if we put that aside, itâs normal for her to be on a blind date too.
Do you think everything is set in stone already? At such a crucial time, you should be working hard to win her over, but youâre pushing her further away! Do you even still want to use the Riggs familyâs influence to help you get back the things that shouldâve belonged to you?"
