Chapter 122
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âWhen will that be?! You know perfectly well what we have to do today, but you insist on causing so
much trouble. Do you even want to divorce? If Cynthia finds out, sheâll be mad at you too,â Rosalie
pressed.
She really couldnât understand this man.
They were so close to getting divorced today, but he was causing all these problems on his own. He
claimed it was an accident, but it didnât seem like it.
The situation could have been controlled. If he hadnât gone to Cynthiaâs place and instead come
straight here and had dinner with Rebecca, then he wouldnât need to drink and everything would
have gone smoothly. They might have already left by now and gone straight to apply for a divorce.
Theodore suddenly grabbed Rosalieâs waist, and pulled her forcefully toward him. She yelped as
she fell into his arms.
Startled, she tried to push herself up by pushing against his chest. However, Theodore held onto
her tightly.
She tried to loosen his grip, but found him half asleep and groggy. She shook her head helplessly,
then got up from him and covered him with a blanket.
What should she do? Theodore was in no condition to steal the
resident register now. Even if he managed to get it, they wouldnât be able to get a divorce.
Rosalie left the room and saw Rebecca standing at the door, smiling at her.

âIs Theo asleep?â
âYes, heâs drunk.â
âIf heâs drunk, just let him sleep for a while. Do you want to take a nap with him?â
âNo need, Grandma. Iâll stay with you for a while.â
Rosalie helped Rebecca into the room. They chatted for a while, and before they knew it, the older
woman was feeling sleepy. Rebecca lay down on the bed, and Rosalie covered her with a blanket.
na
âGrandma, rest for a while.â
âRose, you can take a nap too.â
âOkay, Grandma. You go ahead and sleep first.â
Rebecca was soon fast asleep.
Rosalie gently called her a few times, âGrandma. Grandma?â
Seeing no response from the person in bed, Rosalie carefully got up.
She quietly opened the drawer in the cabinet, wanting to find the resident register. She knew it was
in Rebeccaâs room, but she didnât know exactly where it was kept.
Suddenly, she spotted a box that was beautifully crafted and made of wood. It looked quite old, but
there was a lock on it, requiring a key to
open.
If Rosalie guessed right, the resident register should be inside. However, she didnât have the key.
She needed to find it first.
Rosalie put the box back where it was, but she didnât know where the key was. After thinking for a
while, she figured it must be with Zane. He kept all the keys..

So Rosalie went to see Zane to ask him about it. She saw him. directing the servants in the yard,
looking busy. She didnât approach him directly, but cautiously made her way to his workroom.
On one wall hung various keys, all unmarked. Only Zane knew which key corresponded to which
lock.
Rosalie remembered the keyhole of Rebeccaâs box and spotted a
small, uniqueâlooking key that closely matched it. Just as she was about to reach for it, she heard a
voice behind her.
âMadam Rosalie, do you need something?â
Rosalie recoiled, as if shocked, and turned to see Zane standing
there. She didnât know when he had appeared.
She smiled and replied, âNothing much. Iâm just wandering around since Grandma and Theo are
both asleep.â
Zane didnât seem suspicious. He approached her, and suggested, Madam Rosalie, why donât you
also take a nap?â
âAlright then. Since youâre busy, I wonât disturb you,â Rosalie said, and left the workroom.
