Chapter 124
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
After half an hour, Rosalie went to Rebeccaâs room and found the
older woman awake and reading a book. She wasnât sure how long
Rebecca had been awake.
âGrandma,â Rosalie greeted as she walked in.
âRose, is Theo awake?â
âYes, Grandma. I made him some garlic soup, and he drank it.â
âOh, child. Why are you so good to him? You care for him like youâre his mother. Make sure he
doesnât take advantage of you.â
âGrandma, itâs not much trouble for me to make him some garlic soup. If I donât help him clear his
head, heâll be a nuisance when he acts tipsy around you.â
âIf heâs a nuisance, Iâll make him leave,â Rebecca said bluntly.
Rosalie sat on the edge of the bed. âTheo and I will stay with you this afternoon, and then weâll have
dinner together tonight. How about
that?â
They had originally planned to sneak out the resident register during the day, but the plan failed.
Thus, Rosalie had to extend the time.
She had to get the resident register. She would divorce Theodore. latest by tomorrow.
Rosalie refused to drag it out any longer. She didnât want to watch Theodore continue to be involved
with Cynthia during their marriage.
After the divorce, he could do whatever he wanted, and she wouldnât have to see it.
Theodore said she was in a hurry to divorce. Indeed, she was in a
T
hurry now.
âWhatâs going on with you two today? Youâre both so eager to accompany an old woman like me. Is
there something going on?â Rebecca asked.
Her eyes were sharp and clear despite her age, shining brightly.
Rosalie frowned. âGrandma, what do you think we are? Of course we want to spend more time with
you! Youâre usually alone here, and we should take care of you more. Your words make it sound like
we have ulterior motives.â
Rosalie did have ulterior motives. She hated the way she pretended.
âFine. If you want to accompany me, of course Iâll be happy. Why donât you two stay the night? I
wonât let Theo drink anymore if you do that,â Rebecca said.
âOkay. Thank you, Grandma,â Rosalie said with a smile.
Theodore and Rosalie did spend the afternoon with Rebecca. They tried to find an opportunity,
especially Rosalie, who was particularly
active.
She told Theodore where the box containing the resident register was, hoping heâd find the right
moment to get it. Unfortunately, there was never a good chance.
Since Zane always kept a bunch of keys in hand, one of which was the key to the box, Rosalie
couldnât directly ask him for it. If she did, he would definitely get suspicious and might inform
Rebecca, who would easily catch on to what they were up to.
So, the couple had to wait patiently.
In the evening, Rebecca had the kitchen prepare a table full of dishes

and a pot of soup. The soup smelled delicious, its aroma filling the air from afar.
Rebecca insisted that Theodore drink three bowls of it, but she didnât allow Rosalie to drink more.
Rebecca was jubilant today. Her grandson and granddaughterâinâlaw had accompanied her all
afternoon, so naturally, she was in a good mood.
Rosalie and Theodore were waiting for an opportunity, but little did they know Rebecca was also
biding her time.
Late at night, Rosalie cautiously made her way to Zaneâs workroom. She used the flashlight on her
phone to find the key that opened the box, and carefully removed it. Then, she slipped it into her
pocket before sneaking away.
Rosalie felt like a thief. She was terribly nervous as she hurried back to her room.
As she opened the door, she immediately began, âTheo, Iâve gotâ¦â
Suddenly, she found herself enveloped in a pair of strong arms. Theodore pressed her against the
door, and kissed her.
