Chapter 15
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Rosalie found Theodoreâs questioning tone laughable. He was the one who had brought up getting
a divorce because he was eager to be with another woman.
What right did he have to be unhappy?
âThe sooner we sign, the sooner itâs over, which works out in your favor,â Rosalie remarked before
pulling back the covers and getting out of bed.
Even if her heart felt like it was being torn apart, she refused to shed tears in front of him. Before
they got married, she had made it clear that if he wanted a divorce, she wouldnât cling to him. Now,
she had to stick to her word.
Theodore stared at her retreating figure with furrowed brows. Wouldnât the divorce work out more in
her favor?
Just as Rosalie reached the bathroom door, she suddenly turned around. âOh, by the way, Cynthia
called last night. I told her you were asleep. Sorry for answering your phone.â
Having said that, she entered the bathroom.
After a while, Theodore picked up his phone and dialed Cynthiaâs number.
âHey, Theo.â
âI heard you called last night. Did you need something?â Theodoreâs voice was neither cold nor
gentle.
âIt wasnât anything important. I just didnât expect Mrs. Spencer to pick up. Seems like sheâs mad at
me.â

Theodore had just ended the call when Rosalie emerged from the bathroom. She walked into the
dressing room and got dressed, emerging as calmly as ever.
âAre you angry?â Theodore asked.
Rosalie looked at him in confusion. âWhat are you talking about?â
*Cindy called last night. Are you angry?â he repeated.
Rosalie forced a smile, masking her intense heartache. âI have no reason to be angry. I knew from
the start how important she is to you. Donât worry, I wonât bother you two.
After calmly and gracefully speaking her mind, she walked out of the room. Just as she closed the
door, she briefly heard the sound of what seemed like something being dropped in the room.
Knowing that Theodore would wake up with a hangover, Rosalie had prepared a light breakfast for
him
and whet his appetite.
something to settle his stomach
The couple sat in silence at the breakfast table. Things between them had been off ever since
Theodore brought up getting a divorce.
âI saw Caleb buying medicine for you last night. Are you feeling unwell?â Rosalie asked, recalling
the scene from the previous night.
Did Theodore have any health problems that she didnât know about? âI had an upset stomach from
drinking too much. I asked him to get me something to help settle it,â Theodore replied calmly.
Based on what Rosalie said, Caleb likely hadnât told her what the medicine was really for.
âReally?â Rosalie was skeptical. âIt was just for an upset stomach?
Not something youâve been consistently taking?â
Judging from Calebâs tone last night, it didnât seem like the medicine. was something Theodore had
taken only once or twice.
âYes. Why do you ask?â
Rosalie fell silent at her husbandâs reply. She couldnât see any signs. of deceit on his face, so she
accepted his words with a smile.
âI was just curious, thatâs all. By the way, when will the divorce papers be ready?â
âSoon enough. Why the rush?â Theodoreâs voice was suddenly laced with irritation.
Rosalie was startled at the change in his tone. âIâm not in a rush. I just want to know the
approximate time so I can prepare myself.â
Realizing he had sounded harsh, Theodore softened his tone when he, replied, âAs I said before,
these things take time. There are still some procedures that need to be done. Donât worry, it will
happen.â
âOkay.â
Eager to be with Cynthia, Theodore was the one who had initiated the divorce. Yet now, he seemed
unruffled, making it appear as if Rosalie was the one who was eager to divorce. He was such a
confusing
man.
âSo⦠when do you plan to talk to Grandma about this? Sheâll find out sooner or later,â Rosalie
said.
