Chapter 156
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âGrandma, I want to ask you something. Can you tell me the truth?â Rosalie asked.
âWhat is it?â
âWhen Cynthia had her double lung transplant surgery, did you stop it?
âDouble lung transplant?â Rebecca pondered for a moment, a hint of confusion in her eyes. âOh, I
remember now. I did make some inquiries.â
âDid you really stop it?â
âWhen I heard that woman was sick and needed surgery, I didnât believe it. I thought she was faking
it, so I made some inquiries. After a few phone calls, I didnât hear anything more about it. Whatâs the
matter?â Rebecca explained.
âCynthia told me that back then, you delayed her lung transplant surgery so you could force Theo to
marry me. One of the lungs that was supposed to be transplanted into her had problems. Now, she
only has one lung. Her health is poor, which led to heart problems as well.â
âOh, I see.â
After hearing this, Rebecca patted the armrest of the sofa calmly.
âThat woman is really cunning. Sheâs blaming me for everything. No wonder Theo isnât very willing
to come see me. He must have
believed her nonsense.
Rosalie was somewhat excited. âAre you saying that you really didnât do it?â
âOf course I didnât do it! I do dislike Cynthia, but I wouldnât do something like that. Rose, youâve
been fooled by her. That woman. talks nonsense all the time. Besides Theo, who else would beli
her? Her tricks are only effective on loveâstruck men.â
Rosalie finally breathed a sigh of relief. Rebecca hadnât done it!
Seeing Rosalie relax, Rebecca frowned slightly. âYou didnât actua believe that womanâs words, did
you? Did you actually think I did something like that?â
Rosalie hurriedly explained, âNo, Grandma. I was just doubtful, bu never actually thought it was you.
I just didnât dare to ask you. I wa afraid youâd worry if you knew about it, so I kept it to myself.â
She had been hiding it for so long, but in reality, Rebecca was ver clever and had already guessed
it.
âYouâre always making things difficult for yourself,â Rebecca said, feeling sorry for Rosalie.
Suddenly, the two of them fell into silence.
Seeing Rosalie looking dejected, Rebecca finally asked, âHave you really decided to divorce
Theo?â
âGrandma, he doesnât love me. Continuing this marriage is harmful to both of us, so Iâ¦â Rosalie felt
a heavy burden in her chest. âIâm sorry. Grandma.â
She tried her best not to cry, or show her sadness.
âDo you really think he doesnât have feelings for you, or do you think he likes Cynthia and doesnât
love you? I can find a way to deal with that womanâ¦â
Rebecca wanted to intervene.
âNo, Grandma.â Rosalie hurriedly interrupted
anything. Let them be. Iâm just so, so tired.â
Rebecca gently patted Rosalieâs head. âYouâre such a silly child. It seems youâve been through a lot
since that woman came back. Theo must have mistreated you.
Rosalie felt a pang in her heart. She was almost unable to hold back her tears and throw herself
into Rebeccaâs arms to cry, but she couldnât do that.
âGrandma, he didnât mistreat meâ¦â
âYouâre still defending him at this point. I donât know whatâs so good about that woman. Canât he see
his fatherâs mistake? And yet, heâs walking down the same path!â
Rebeccaâs voice carried righteous anger.
