Chapter 166
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Cynthia was reduced to tears. âTheo, you must believe me. I swear I didnât say that to Rosalie.â
Theodore tried to speak up for Cynthia. âSheâs already explained that
she didnât say that. Maybe Rose misheard her, and there was a misunderstanding.â
âMisunderstanding? Ha ha haâ¦â Rebecca laughed. âWhat kind of misunderstanding will make her
think that I want to harm her? Is she refusing to admit her own words? You think Rose might have
misheard her, but Iâm of the opinion that sheâs changing her words
now.â
âMaâam, how am I supposed to admit that I said something I didnât? Iâm not lying to you, Iâ¦â
âCynthia Zeller,â Rebecca cut her off, âI donât care whether youâre
slandering me or youâre hinting that Iâm the one who did it. Either way, youâre sowing discord on
purpose. Let me make myself clear. I did not stop you from going through the procedure. Even if
you were just guessing, youâre maliciously trying to create a rift between me and Theodore. What a
wicked woman you are!â
âIâm not, Iâm not!â Cynthia shrieked in agitation, grabbing Theodoreâs arm. âTheo, trust me. I really
didnât do so, I didnât.â
She turned around, and pointed fingers at Rosalie.
âRosalie, why are you making trouble and causing things to turn out like this? What good does this
do for you?â
Tears washed her face, making for a pitiful scene. As long as Theodore believed her, she didnât
care if everyone else didnât.
Rosalie suddenly stood up, and said coldly, âCynthia, you clearly told me at that time that it was
Grandma who stopped your operation. You didnât say that it was just a guess. I swear that if I were
lying or taking your words out of context, then Iâll get hit by a car on the streets! Dare you swear that
youâll never marry Theodore if you were lying? Do you?â
âRosalie, youâre too much! How have I offended you for you to treat me this way?!â Cynthia cried as
she dashed into Theodoreâs embrace.
âEnough!â Theodore glared at Rosalie. âIf swearing were of use, lying and cheating wouldnât exist in
this world. Since this is a case of her word against yours and no one knows whoâs telling the truth, I
think we should just forget about this!â
Rosalie scoffed. âYouâre really playing things down. Do you really think Grandma was behind this, or
are you just blindly believing everything that Cynthia says?â
âI have no need to explain to you,â Theodore said coldly.
âDo you have a need to explain things to me, then?â Rebecca was on the verge of pulling her hair
out from her grandsonâs actions. âI am your grandmother. Since youâve misunderstood me, donât I
deserve an explanation from you?â
âGrandma, it no longer matters whether youâre the one behind this.â
âIt matters very much to me,â Rebecca spat out angrily. âTheodore Spencer, youâve received the
very best education since you were young. I didnât expect you to be so blinded by a woman that
youâre simply disregarding everything! Ever since Cynthia appeared, youâve been an idiot. This
woman doesnât do you any good at all. Conversely, sheâs bringing you all sorts of trouble. Canât you
see? Sheâs even creating a rift, crying and yelling the moment sheâs exposed! Yet youâre still
stubbornly defending her?â
âCynthia wasnât the one trying to create a rift between us,â Theodore snapped, in a fit of pique. âIf
Rosalie hadnât mentioned this out of the blue, how would all of you know about it? I think sheâs the
one making all this trouble!â
