Chapter 17
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âLet go of me! I said Iâm fine, canât you understand?â Rosalie exclaimed.
Rosalie had always been patient. This was the first time she had her temper at Theodore.
If she went to the hospital, he would definitely find out she was pregnant. Since they were getting
divorced, he couldnât know ab the child. If that happened, he would be tied to her because of the
child, and he would surely hate them both.
âThatâll be up to the doctor to decide. Be good, okay?â Theodore insisted as he forcibly carried her
out of the room.
âTheodore, youâre right. Those are my true feelings. Iâm not happy wi you!â
Theodore abruptly stopped, his brows furrowing slightly.
She endured the discomfort and continued, âIâve put up with you for long time, so I got a bit
emotional when you asked me that. Iâm fine Iâve just endured too much in this marriage, and now I
want to be free I want to be alone. Let me go!â
Her fists clenched tighter as she spoke. Saying these words felt like she was tearing her own heart
out!
Theodreâs face turned terrifyingly cold. âSo, you locked the door because you didnât want to see
me?â
Rosalie nodded painfully. âYes, I wanted some time alone. Please put me down.â
His embrace gradually loosened as if he was about to release her. However, he stared at her face,
noticing her flushed cheeks, drenched
in sweat, and her pale complexion. The force that had relaxed a moment ago tensed again.
His eyes glinted with anger. âItâs fine if you donât want to see me anymore. Iâll leave after you see
the doctor. Since youâve endured for a year, a few more hours wonât make a difference!â
Theodreâs face was terrifyingly grim as he strode forward with Rosalie in his arms, his anger fuelling
his quick pace.
Rosalie lay still in his arms, not daring to even breathe louder than necessary. She felt as if she
were facing a volcano that was about to erupt åt any moment.
She wanted to say something to stop him, but a wave of nausea -overwhelmed her. It felt like she
would throw up if she tried to speak, so she could only do her best to hold back the urge and silently
lean against his shoulder.
In the car, Theodoreâs face remained cold, but his actions were gentle as he wiped the sweat from
Rosalieâs forehead with a handkerchief. âWhy are you sweating so much? Weâll have the doctor give
you a full examination to see whatâs wrong.â
His concern surpassed the anger he felt when his wife spoke those hurtful words earlier.
When Rosalie heard that he wanted her to undergo a full examination, her mind went blank for a
moment. Despite her objections, she knew that she couldnât stop him. She realized that the more
she tried to persuade him otherwise, the more suspicious he would become.
âCan we go to Delta Hospital?â Rosalie asked.
âDelta? Why?â
âThatâs the usual hospital I visit when I get sick. The doctors there are pretty good, and Iâm familiar
with the environment. It gives me a
sense of security.â
âYouâve fallen sick a lot before this??
How had he not known?
Throughout their oneâyear marriage, Theodore had always been by Rosalieâs side when she had a
cold or fever. For more serious issues, he had personally accompanied her to the hospital. Had she
often. gone to Delta Hospital by herself?
âWeâve only been married for a year, and before that, we werenât together every day. Besides, you
were once gone on a twoâmonth business trip, remember? When I was unwell, I went by myself. It
wasnât a big deal, so I didnât mention it,â Rosalie explained.
Theodore stared at her for a while, as if trying to find something in her face. But upon careful
consideration of her previous words about enduring him for so long, he realized that it was natural
for her to not tell him everything. There were still many things he didnât know about her.
âGo to Delta Hospital,â Theodore instructed the driver, his expression even colder than before.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Rosalie turned away from her husband and faced the window. She closed
her eyes and pretended to rest. From Theodoreâs perspective, it seemed like she would rather lean
against the seat than be in his arms.
As time passed, Rosalie noticed through the car windowâs reflection that Theodore wasnât staring at
her anymore. She quietly took out her phone from her pocket and sent a text message.
[Steph, I need your help. Itâs urgent!]
