Chapter 228
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âYes. Iâve only just graduated, and Iâve just gotten a divorce, too,â
Rosalie said with a bitter smile. âIâm a rich woman now, and I have a
lot of money to spend even if I donât do anything.â
Sebastian stuck his hands in his pocket. âDid Theodore give you something in compensation?â
Rosalie nodded. âProperty and five percent of the companyâs shares.â
Sebastianâs brows arched, seemingly in surprise. âThatâs rather generous of him.â
As much as Sebastian hated Theodore, he had to admit that
Theodore was very generous this time. With five percent of the companyâs shares, Rosalie could
enjoy life without needing to lift a finger for the rest of her life.
âAnd so?â Sebastian asked further.
âSoâ¦â Rosalie thought about it, and chuckled. âIâm now a very rich woman with access to all this
money without working hard for it. Iâve lucked out this time.â
Her smile was forced, as if someone was tugging at the sides of her face and making her smile.
She clearly didnât feel happy inside, despite the soâcalled smile on her face.
Sebastian said, âSince he gave you the money, keep it. You were once his wife, and you deserve
this compensation. You canât let him off so easily.â
Rosalie sighed.
âI intend to find a job. I should do something, or I would have gone to university in vain.â
Sebastian pondered for a moment before saying, âDid you consider coming to my company to
work? I have a suitable opening right now relating to the field of finance. Ifâ¦â
âSebastian,â Rosalie cut him off, âthank you for the kind intention, but I donât need it. Iâll settle this by
myself.â
She needed neither Theodoreâs help hor Sebastianâs help in this regard.
Sebastian had always respected Rosalieâs decision. Unless it was something detrimental to her, he
would never oppose her.
He had to be a stark contrast to Theodore and make Rosalie find him different from that man.
âAll right, then. Let me know if you need anything.â
Rosalie nodded in acknowledgement. âSebastian, why donât you accompany me to check out some
apartments?â
âSure. Are you going to buy a property?â Sebastian asked.
âNo, I want to rent one. Now that Iâve divorced him, I want to move out.â
Although Theodore said that he would give her the house, it was a place she and him used to live.
Now that their relationship had ended, the house that was once their home had become a reminder
of her sorrow. She would rather move out.
It was time for her to live alone.
She should have done that a long time ago. Her marriage with Theodore in the last year was but an
accident that shouldnât have happened.
Now, things were finally back on track.
Rosalie wanted to find an apartment, and Sebastian didnât interfere with her decision. He simply
drove Rosalie to a real estate agency.
One of the agents brought them to view some units.
âThis unit is nicely configured with two bedrooms and two living rooms. Itâs wellâventilated, and
beautifully renovated. There are two washrooms, one in the master bedroom and the other in the
smaller bedroom which can be used as a guest room. It can also be used as a kidsâ room for your
children in the future. If you find this unit too small, I have bigger ones which I can show you.â
The agent knew at one look that they were loaded, which was why he brought them to a more
expensive apartment. Given the cost, the size of the apartment and the quality of its furnishings
were naturally more superior.
Rosalie smiled awkwardly. âWe are not husband and wife. Youâve misunderstood.â
âOh, is that so?â The agent smiled apologetically. âApologies, I thought you two were married to
each other.â
