Chapter 270
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Sebastian sent her a picture of a rose with the following text, âI think youâre that kind of adorable
woman.
Rosalieâs smile faded as she stared at the text on her phone screen. The air went eerily silent. Her
brows furrowed as uneasiness grew in her heart.
She read through their entire conversation, and back at the final text Sebastian sent: âI think youâre
that kind of adorable woman.ââ
Rosalie bit her lip as fear flashed past her eyes.
She anxiously typed, âYouâre wrong, Iâm not that kind of woman.â
But then, she deleted it and typed, You might be wrong about that.
She deleted that too, and typed, âI donât think I am pure in heart. Iâm quite a dull person, really.â
However, she deleted that instead of sending it.
What if she misunderstood him? What if she was reading too much into his words?
Perhaps Sebastian was just making a passing remark and didnât mean much. She was being too
sensitive, and was making things way too complicated.
Rosalie told herself not to overthink things.
Was she delusional?
She knew that it was best for one not to do anything out of panic, for that would only result in graver
mistakes.
She sent him a smiling emoji, and texted, âIâm a little tired, Iâll go to
13
bed first. Goodbye.â
Sebastian replied, âGoodnight.â
He sent her a picture of a heart with the words âLove youâ in the middle.
Rosalie sat up on the couch, her eyes widened. She stared at the two words âLove youâ in the
middle of the heart, her mind racing.
Sebastian probably meant it as a casual exclamation. He probably didnât think much of it, and simply
clicked on the first picture he saw.
Rosalie ran her fingers through her hair, the unease in her heart becoming stronger. She typed, âDid
you just randomly send that?â
But her thumb hovered over the âsendâ button; she hesitated to send the message out.
If she ended up overthinking things, wouldnât that question be awkward?
Rosalie immediately deleted the unsent message. She probably was overthinking things and got the
wrong idea as usual.
She had gotten many wrong ideas, and developed one too many foolish ideas with Theodore.
She had an overly fertile imagination, which wasnât a good thing in this context. She couldnât mistake
a tender look from another as love.
Theodore saw the struggle on Rosalieâs face and said casually, âWho are you chatting with?â
Rosalieâs heart leaped out of fright. She instinctively placed her phone screen side down, as if she
had a guilty conscience.
Their eyes locked; Theodore shot Rosalie a piercing stare. Or rather, it seemed as though he had
caught her in the act.
As they looked at each other, the air between them seemed to freeze.
They stared at each other for over ten seconds, during which Rosalie suddenly remembered that
she and Theodore were already divorced.
What was she scared of?
Why were they acting as thought she had cheated on him?!
She had a clear conscience.
That thought filled Rosalie with renewed confidence. She flipped the phone around and said, âA
friend.â
âIs that so? What friend is it?â Theodore pressed further.
He clearly saw the guilt in Rosalieâs eyes just now, which turned into stubborn confidence in a split
second.
Rosalie said flatly, âSebastian.â
What was there to hide? She was already divorced from Theodore. Wasnât it normal for her to chat
with Sebastian?
