Chapter 274
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
âWhy didnât you tell me you went?â Theodore asked. He wondered if, perhaps, that was the night
Rosalie sought comfort from Sebastian.
Thinking of Sebastian, his eyes grew cold again. Sebastian naturally became his enemy right from
their first meeting, like there could be no two rulers in one town.
âWhatâs there to tell?â Rosalie was indifferent. âAs soon as I saw how much you cared for Cynthia, I
left.â
âWhy didnât you go home? Why did you go to Sebastian instead?â Theodore pressed.
Rosalie stayed silent. She didnât tell him that it had rained heavily that night, and that she had
collapsed in the rain in pain. She had also
nearly met with an accident.
Sebastian was the one who came all the way to visit her at the
hospital. At that time, Theodore was by Cynthiaâs bedside, and didnât leave for a second.
She was very grateful to Sebastian for providing her comfort in her moments of despair. She didnât
see a need to let Theodore know all this; he would only see her as even more pathetic.
Silence fell over the room. Theodore didnât say anything more, but his heart ached, as if something
was clawing it.
After Rosalie reapplied his medication and wrapped new bandages around him, she put the medical
kit away.
âAll done. You can sleep now.â Rosalie went back to the sofa to lie down.
Laying on his side, Theodore stared at her fixedly.
âCynthia needs a heart, but we donât know when the doctors will find a suitable one. Iâll probably
marry her soon, before her surgery.â
Rosalie was lying on her back, staring calmly at the ceiling. She clenched the hem of her clothes
tightly under the blanket, and said with a wry smile, âIf you want to fulfill her wish, marry her soon.
Itâs difficult to get heart donors.â
She felt pain, but the agony was mingled with a numbness. More accurately, she had gotten used to
it. Now that they were divorced, she shouldnât expect things to change; she should just get used to
the pain until it became numb.
âIf you ever want to marry someone in the future, Iâll give you the best dowry,â Theodore suddenly
said.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow and turned around. âWhat did you say?â
âIâm your brother.â Theodore smiled gently. âSo, Iâll take care of you for life. If any man mistreats you
in the future, Iâll make sure to teach him a lesson.â
âSo, youâre going to teach my future husband a lesson as my brother?
Rosalie asked.
Theodore nodded. âYes.â
Rosalie smiled mirthlessly. âThen can I, as your sister, teach Cynthia a lesson? If she does anything
wrong, can I do that too?â
Theodoreâs expression stiffened.
After a pause, he said helplessly, âIâm tired. You should sleep, too.â
In the end, whenever Cynthia was mentioned, he had nothing more to
say.
Theodore slowly closed his eyes.
Rosalie lay down, facing the ceiling again. Tears slid down the corners of her eyes. She wiped them
away, pretending those tears had never fallen.
Time ticked by slowly.
Rosalie couldnât sleep. She turned to look at Theodore, and saw that he was fast asleep.
Checking the time, she realized it was already early morning. Time sure flew by.
Rosalie touched her abdomen gently.
âBaby, isnât your dad ridiculous? He wants to divorce me for another woman, but now, heâs
shamelessly saying heâll protect me forever. Thereâs no one more ridiculous than him.â
