Chapter 31
Chasing My Pregnant Wife
Theodore placed the lunch boxes on the coffee table. There were exactly two portions, one for him
and one for Cynthia. When he opened the lunch boxes, he noted that the ingredients were the sam
for both, but one had chili peppers while the other didnât.
Brows furrowed, he asked, âWhy did you include chili peppers? I thought I told you to not use any
spices.â
His words brought Rosalieâs chaotic thoughts back to normal.
She regained her composure and said, âI just threw them in randomly If you donât want it, then
forget it.â
Theodore seemed to sense something from Rosalieâs cold tone. But upon second thought, he knew
neither he nor Rosalie liked chili
peppers. So, since Rosalie wasnât making the food for herself, it was probably just a mistake.
âMrs. Spencer, have you had Junch?â Cynthia asked politely, her complexion somewhat pallid and
fragile.
âShe already ate,â Theodore answered for Rosalie..
Whenever Rosalie brought him lunch previously, she had usually already eaten at home. So, he
assumed the same was true today.
âYes, Iâve eaten,â Rosalie replied coldly.
Rosalie used to worry that eating with Theodore would delay his work, so she always left after
delivering his lunch. In reality, each time she delivered lunch to her husband, she had done so on
an empty
stomach and returned home hungry.
âThatâs good,â Cynthia said with a gentle smile. âThank you for making lunch for me. It smells
delicious. Youâve worked hard.â
âEat quickly, or it will get cold.â Theodore placed the chiliâfree lunch. box in front of Cynthia. âHere,
you eat this one.â
Cynthia looked at the one with chili peppers and said, âTheo, you canât eat spicy food. Why donât I
take the spicy one?â
âNo,â Theodore said sternly. âYour health isnât good. You canât eat anything spicy.â
âBut you canât eat spicy food either,â Cynthia said worriedly.
âItâs okay. A little bit wonât hurt, and this chili doesnât seem very spicy.â
Seeing the concern between the two people on the sofa, Rosalie felt like an outsider.
Previously, Theodore would never eat chili peppers. Rosalie had once suggested he try a mild one,
but he refused outright. Yet now, for Cynthiaâs sake, he was willing to eat anything.
It was absurd to think that no matter what Rosalie did, she was
unable to win this manâs favor, yet Cynthia didnât have to do anything to have Theodore desperate
to treat her well.
Some people are just naturally favored, effortlessly obtaining things others yearn for.
Wanting to leave quickly Rosalie stepped forward and said, âGive me the divorce papers. Iâll sign
them.â
On the morning that Theodore had told her Cynthia was back and he wanted a divorce, Rosalie
hadnât felt any humiliation or hatred towards her husband. At most, she felt pain. But now, she felt
humiliated, and even a bit of resentment towards him.
Theodore pushed the chili peppers to the side. Hearing her mention the divorce papers, he
furrowed his brows.
âDidnât I say some property procedures havenât been completed yet?
125 BORUS
We still need to wait.â
Cynthia frowned upon hearing this, a hint of displeasure flashing in
her eyes.
âThen, why did you ask me to come today?â Rosalie asked, raising her
voice.
She was genuinely angry. Was it just to have her deliver food to them?
Seeing that Rosalie was angry, Cynthiaâs eyes turned red. âItâs all my fault. I wanted to see you
because I was worried. Because of me, you two are getting divorced. I feel guilty, soâ¦â
Cynthia suddenly covered her lips and started to sob. âIâm sorry. I shouldnât have come here. Maybe
I should just leave.â
